October , NovemberI am planning a trip to Vegas in November and have a price from Belfast flying Continental (connecting in New York) and a price from Dublin flying to London and then on to Las Vegas with Virgin.
Anyone have any experience of either flights? What is the service like? How is the leg room? Have you experienced any delays?
Any recommendations would be helpful.
Thanks0 -
AugustIf you have to pick money up at the airport what we do is use the travelmoney maximiser on here, grab a screenshot of the rate you could get from the top place (most likely ThomasGlobal) then go to Travelex and order the money to pick up at Gatwick. Email Travelex the screenshot and they will match that price. What they do is give you money at their online rate but you don't pay till you pick it up, and send you a cheque for the difference, used them a few times and they have always been good.

Travelex price promise look at no.7 in the T&C
That's great thanks! I'm going through the order now online and it's asking for my debit card details and looks like they take it right away. How did you arrange to not pay until you collect?0 -

We flew Virgin last October, I'd like (hope) to think it was the first and last time on that route...too squashed by half, definately an endurance contest.
We have flown continental before, a few years ago, conversely, these flights appeared more comfortable by half.
However, there are ways around sitting in a squashed position for the best part of 10 hours, you can get up and walk around and there are areas to stand near the toilets to stretch your legs.
This was economy btw...I'm really working on the next trip not being economy.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

I've travelled London Gatwick/vegas return twice and personally find nothing wrong with them....I don't however have any other long haul flights to compare with.... but I can tell you they are ten times better than BMI baby/thomas cook/thomsons etc on the spanish holiday runs:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -

Yep me too, it was miserable in the end, I looked like a mad tappy woman because I kept trying to jab quickly at things to not get a shock, didn't work though.:o
The bounce sheet in the pocket idea isn't mine btw, some lovely person on here suggested it when I was moaning my head off about the static...so THANKS to them. x:TDFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

AugustFrom their website:
In general, Continental Airlines will accept up to two pieces of checked baggage with a maximum weight of 50 pounds (23 kg) per bag and a maximum outside dimension of 62 inches (157 cm) per bag in exchange for the applicable service fees. Outside dimension of a bag is equal to the width + height + depth of the bag added together.
So get the tape measure out..0
