AugustI was going to try the $20 trick but it's crossed my mind that as we have already paid for our accomodation through a travel company it won't be applicable? Or can the clerk still do it if they want? I know it's always optional!0

Yes when we spoke to them earlier today they confirmed that when you check in you can ask for your account to be closed and you will not be asked for a deposit. It only means that you can't charge to your room.
Have a great time, we only have 9 sleeps to go, cannot wait!!!!Lucky wins - Rituals Beauty Advent Calendar; Starbucks Coffee & £20 Gift Card; Amazing Hen Weekend at Dunblane Hydro; Heat Magazine Book Bundle; Le Crueset Goodies :j

Ah Gill you've helped me no end with that, I'm so relieved. I can sleep easier tonight (or not as I'm too excited :j)0 -

My Mum stayed in Mandalay over the July 4th holiday weekend this year. She didnt use the $20 trick, just asked nicely when they checked in if they could be given a nice room. The receptionist was very friendly and after running it by her manager upgraded my Mum and brother to a free upgrade to a suite. They had booked the basic 550 room and paid through a holiday company, but ended up in a 2 bedroom suite with living area, dining room, bar, 2 bathrooms and amazing view of the strip. I think it is just luck to be honest!Lucky wins - Rituals Beauty Advent Calendar; Starbucks Coffee & £20 Gift Card; Amazing Hen Weekend at Dunblane Hydro; Heat Magazine Book Bundle; Le Crueset Goodies :j

Irrelevant how you booked if you want to try the $20 trick. BUT !!!MsBrightside wrote: »Wow sounds fab! We're booked in to The Suite in The Hotel @ MB so I can't complain. I've never had a suite in my life but it's worth a try eh?
i doubt there are any bad rooms in THE HOTEL . We loved our stay there . Room was proper Luxury . if only it was was a bit nearer the centre strip , it would be our fav . but all things considered thats a tiny gripe for the the quality of the place .hey everyone! WOW
well don't count on extra's, but it sure does not hurt to let them know you are on your Honeymoon , first time in Vegas for a room upgrade . be polite and pour on the english charm and try the $20 trick as well . you might get a few freebies thrown in
hopefully you won't end up in a Classic room which are known to be a bit drab. Augustus tower is where you want to try and Blag . we did last stay at Caesars for $20 and piling on the English thing .
Augustus Tower is simply lush !!! and our best hotel room in Vegas .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
