Flying out in the morning... woohooo
I have 2 rooms booked at Ballys, 1 for me and my other half and 1 for a mate of mine, I am going to try the $20 trick but should I send my m8 up seperatley for his or should one $20 suffice for both?
Any body have any experience or success with this0 -
hiya guys
thanks for the advice on getting to ellis island.
leave on friday so getting properly excited - already cant sleep lol!!
am getting married on 30th and will be picking up our licence on the sunday 29th and was wondering what the best way to get to the licence place is? we think we will be buying a bus pass as want to get to outlets and downtown a few times in week so makes sense. but does the ace go anywhere near? or shall i get a cab?
thanks
kate x
get a cab if i were you . you could catch the bus , but you would have to walk from the correct bus stop ( quite a few stops near downtown) and then navigate yourself to it . if you do catch the bus from the strip i would go all the way to the end of the route ( which is Fremont street area ) so you know where to catch it back .
when your done The Golden Nugget is the best bet for a Taxi back .
If you wanted to check out downtown why not do this after .
Binions Steakhouse do a mean Fillet Mignon with a great view ( night time is very good setting) . resist the temptation to walk straight out of Binions Casino when you step in ( proper no frills casino ) and head for the Elevator which will take you to the Steakhouse .
Defending the Caveman show has now moved from The Golden Nugget , but i have heard good things about "Downtown" Geordie Brown's show . should find this 2 for 1 .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
thanks trets
the plan was to pick up the licence on sunday and then go on to the outlets at that end. i could catch a cab from paris to the bureau but then how would i get a cab to the outlets? is there a cab stop outside the licence bureau?

I think the prices are on the menu on their website.

Unlike a lot of Vegas restaurants the mains are not a la carte - so you get sides included in the price.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Aprilhave July and August seemed to take forever to anyone else? I cannot wait until Wednesday week when we can at least say we are going to Vegas 'next month'. I'm getting a bit concerned as we were just there in April and while we used to go once a year and were fine with that, now it's twice generally, and it still seems soooo long between trips. I know I am complaining about something when I'm really lucky that we can manage to go twice a year when some would love to...so apologies for whining about my good fortune, but gosh it seems to be taking ages to get here! I think the moral of the story may be for some, don't start going more often or you'll just want to go all the time! I know some have gotten a bit burnt out and are cutting back, but we're not there yet.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

there was no cab stop outside when we went . but the Golden Nugget is a easy stroll down the road .
you could walk to the outlets as well by the looks of it . this is where street view on Google maps comes in handy
Type Las Vegas Marriage Bureau on Google maps . ( it certainly in the right area , and looks like i remember from 4 years ago )Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
AugustSome hotels will allow you to waive the right to charge things to the room and leave a one-off cash deposit. I'm sure they would take a debit card, but bear in mind that they will put a hold to the value of the pre-authorisation amount (not unusual to be $100+/night) so those funds would be locked up until after the end of your trip...so be sure you know what the amount of the hold will be before handing your card over. May be worth calling them and asking what the options are so you can be prepared.
Thanks Ferf - I gave Mandalay a phone and they said it is either $100 a night either by credit card or cash or we can ask for the account to be closed at check-in meaning we just cant charge to our room, which is fine with us. Not stressing anymore - thanks!!Lucky wins - Rituals Beauty Advent Calendar; Starbucks Coffee & £20 Gift Card; Amazing Hen Weekend at Dunblane Hydro; Heat Magazine Book Bundle; Le Crueset Goodies :j
