no link for the cancelled contracts anymore - you have to call...I received the same email and am presently considering buying some of our October money.

Did someone here say that if you place multiple orders for delivery the same day they send it as one (I would be fine with that)?

Ooh, quick question about Crown Currency now someone's mentioned it...I got the most recent cancelled contracts email this morning and realised the delivery dates are now too late for us. I've never taken much notice before as my last couple of times using them the exchange rate was good enough for me not to be watching it so closely, but does this mean we now won't be able to get a cancelled contract deal, or is there a chance they might do one with earlier delivery dates? If not I'm considering just taking the plunge and buying the rest of our money now as CC's normal rate for earlier in September is now up to a kind of acceptable 1.55...would rather get that and be happy-ish than watch it plummet back to the 1.40's again and have to buy at that price!

I had a look back at the cancelled contracts emails and on June 24th they had cancelled contracts for delivery between 15th September and 22nd September...then on the 29th they had them for 24th August 2010 to 31st August 2010...so at least once they had earlier dates than the last email they had sent...though it does generally seem that the next one is for delivery after the last one.

hi all, i need some help or advice, looking to go to las vegas in september seen a hol for £1300 flight and hotel the desert rose for 7 nights that's for 2 people , flight with US airways was wondering is this a good deal or should i pay abit more to stay directly on the strip, and what's the airline like???

Someone asked about Desert Rose once and it was the first time a lot of us had heard of it - I would ignore the rankings at TA as they must use some weird algorithm...the Staybridge Suites is number 2, after all.

I personally believe that for a first trip it's much, much better to be on the strip...though it depends on what you are looking for...from what I recall the Desert Rose is more like a serviced apartment than a hotel room which may appeal to some...being off strip would not be something we would really like, but others are OK with it (I can't imagine us ever staying off-strip in a non-casino hotel though - at least somewhere like Gold Coast or Orleans has plenty to do on the property). Bearing in mind in September it's going to be quite hot, not sure if the walk from Desert Rose to MGM or Tropicana for a start - then onto anywhere else you will want to go will be something you'll want to do every time you leave the room and want to hit the strip.

Agree with Froggitt - do what it says on the first page - price up the flights on their own and see how the price of 2 compares to the package...that will tell you what you have left for hotels, then look at hotels.

Staybridge 2, Desert Rose 4, Springhill Suites 11, La Quinta Summerlin 16.........and then the really orrible hotels like MGM 44, Paris 49, Mandalay Bay 52, PH 61, Aria 62. Not much cred in that list IMHO.

Someone from my work stopped at Desert Rose last month said it was brill and that they would defo recommed it, they had a 2 bed suite which they said was lovely, the pool was small ish but they were only there for 5 nights and have been Vegas a few times before so werent fussed about that and am sure they said they dont have a bar in the place but for an hour everyday they would but beer and wine out by the pool for you to drink free of charge... dont quote me on that one though!!!!! Its over the road from MGM and beside Hooters I think so am not sure I would recommed it to a first timer though.

We're staying there in September. Haven't stayed there before, but we did wander over from MGM to check it out as a future option in 2008. We are doing 5 nights at Orleans (stayed there 3 times and love it!), then 5 nights Desert Rose, then 5 nights Trump. Trump is new to us too.

First trip for us was Best Western Mardi Gras out on Paradise Road and it was the trip that started our addiction to Vegas back in 2000. If you want a fridge and access to washer dryers then Desert Rose seems to be a good option. They have a 'managers reception' each weekday evening (Mon-thur I think) where they offer free beer and wine. I like the idea of having a fridge on a 15 night trip for at least part of the time.

Could you maybe split your trip and try Desert Rose along with one of the big name hotels on the nights you can find a good offer on?

lowcostlasvegas is a sister site to cityandshow.com which several of us on here have used many times with no problem.
The cityandshow prices are usually a little cheaper than the other site
