Hi, I'm going to Vegas for a few days in October and I'd love some recommendations on 2 things please!

    1. Cirque du Soleil - which of the shows would you most recommend for some who has never seen a Cirque show before? I'm thinking Mystere?

    2. A great, well priced Grand Canyon tour. I'm looking for a one day day-trip and although I'd love to go in a helicopter I think my finances will limit me to a coach/bus trip! Also in this I've heard mixed opinions on which rim to visit -what would you recommend?

    Thankyou!!!

http://www.grand-adventures.com/ were absolutely fantastic. They have great reviews on TripAdviser also.

Our first Cirque show was Ka, and we thought it was fantastic. No need to get expensive tickets. The whole theatre is used and if you're to close you miss a lot of the action. JMHO

Hi been looking at this place - only staying for 3 nights - any advice?

Why is Polo Towers appealing to you? I'm not sure that anyone here has stayed there (not that I can remember anyway)...but if we knew why Polo Towers was appealing we may be better able to give some input. I don't know that I've ever seen PT come up on any search engines though I have never specifically looked for it so would be interesting to know how you came across it. It may also be helpful to know your dates, what you are looking at paying for PT and what's important to you in a room/hotel in Vegas.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I have only seen one CDS show - Love - and it was fantastic. However I have nothing to compare it too. The next one on my list however is 'O'

We went on a Grand Adventures tour after reading the reviews on trip advisor. It was good but not brilliant, however this maybe specific to me as quite a few things went wrong which may not happen on subsequent trips (took 7 hours to get there was my biggest bugbear)

    Thankyou!!!

    My replies are in bold!

next set of Garth Brooks dates at Wynn:

Garth Brooks has performed to sold-out crowds and rave reviews at the intimate Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas. As a valued fan, we wanted you to be the first to know that tickets for the next series of concerts go on sale Saturday, June 19 at 10 a.m. PT.

    Concert Dates:
    September 10, 11, 12
    October 1, 2, 3
    October 22, 23, 24
    November 5, 6, 7
    November 19, 20, 21
    Concert Times:
    Fridays 8 p.m.
    Saturdays 8 p.m. & 10:30 p.m.
    Sundays 8 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-877-65-GARTH

We haven't booked our October flights yet (if we had, we would be cursing Garth AGAIN as were planning on flying home on October 22nd)...now going to try for tickets for that night.

Penny - I know you booked tickets before - can you remember how it worked? I know there was a queing system of some sort but can't remember the details (could you have multiple windows open, etc). Any advice would be appreciated. :)

I can't personally recommend any of the Vegas Cirque shows as we've only seen the one in Orlando, but just wanted to add that October falls within the "Summer of Cirque" promotion so you may be able to get tickets from $50 upwards:

    http://promo-www.cirquedusoleil.com/las-vegas/summer-2010/index.htm

It was mentioned on here maybe a couple of weeks ago but could be easily missed when trawling through 200+ pages! "O" is excluded from the offer but I think all the others are there.

Personally I would love to see O as it looks a bit different due to the water element, but I've never seen any decent deals come up so in the interests of MSE I think we'll probably go for Ka - we're staying at the MGM so it would also be the most convenient for us. We're going in early October & tickets for the various performances falling within our dates would be $55 using the above link for block 103.

You can get 25% off the 10pm O show on the Bellagio website. It only goes up to the end of June at the moment, but has been ongoing for months.
