turns out expedia woman yesterday didnt have a clue what she was talking about! rang BA and they said there is little they can do seeing as i booked through a 3rd party - but adv me that it was my bmi flight that was cancelled and perhaps expedia just didnt want me to fly BA! random!!

any ways phoned expedia back and the lady could not understand why the lady yesterday had told me so much guff! but hey ho - all sorted now so leave dub after 8am, arrive heathrow near 10am - leaving plenty of time to get to terminal 5 for 15:35!!

ok so im back to being excited! and utterly relieved!! is the BA lounge worth paying for at Heathrow? or do they even have one? or is there a better one to spend time in? anything to keep me away from the shops lol!!

thanks to all who offered advice! you are legends! xo

good news , glad you have got it sorted . :T:T

Delighted to hear that you are now sorted. You must be so relieved. BA strikes in November? Never heard so much guff.

I bet it has put you off booking with a third party. We had a similar problem last year with flights booked with Netflights. A major schedule change and Netflights said they could change to the preferable flights I had found. United were willing to make the change, but couldn't as it was booked with a third party.

I have been looking for flights for the past few days. Found what I wanted, but with Opodo. However I wasn't willing to book with them in case of any problems.

    I'm going back!!!!!!!!!

Didn't think a September trip was going to happen as the flights were far too expensive. Over £800 per person with BA and £650 indirect. There is an American Airlines sale on at the moment, but the return flights had rubbish times with long layovers. Each day I've checked they have had different combinations. Today they finally had the combination I wanted at the price I wanted so I've booked!

At the moment it's looking like the Carriage House for 3 nights, MGM in a Bungalow Suite for 4 nights and the same for the second week. A Bungalow Suite for $56 is a steal.

Of course that can change depending on the offers that appear between now and then.

Great news, usless reps!! You can not buy access to the BA lounges at LHR I am afraid, you either have to be BA silver or OneWorld equivalent, or be flying Club Class
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I think you can buy your way into the Servisair lounge (or you used to be able to) - nothing special though.

Hmmm, I'm pondering on cancelling our Aria reservation now. We're at Encore for 5 nights on the second half of our stay, so I wanted something that was mid strip and modern; hence why I picked Aria. Our rates are $122 a night (inclusive of all taxes), but the more I hear about the place, the worse the reviews get!.

I have a question on the back of this:

1- Wait for a Bellagio offer for early Sept and then cancel Aria
2- Cancel Aria and book a spa suite in NYNY
3- Cancel Aria and book one of the MGM Grand offers.

1 - this means I have to wait for something to come up(!) Will it?!
2 - am I doing myself down by going for something like NYNY (I would go for a minimum of a spa suite)
3 - I don't want a 25min walk to the strip from my room... so I'm not sure about this option. However some of the Twitter and Facebook offers seem too good to waste.

Need 5 nights in early Sept, prior to the Encore. MB discounted as being a bit too far south!

    Any other suggestions?

Signature at MGM is 25 mins from the strip. Regular rooms I would estimate are between 5 and 10 minutes....maybe 15.

Maybe someone could recommend which location at MGM to ask for.....eg West Wing exit is rght on the strip (OK 20 yards), so presumably West Wing Rooms are 5 mins away.

I wouldnt discount MB, it may be further south but has its own monorail through to Excalibur, which is just over the walkway from NYNY

Luci, can't believe you've booked again already!!! When are you going in September? We're there 3-18th.

I still need to read the rest of your trip report, I read it up to the point where I went on holiday (9th May) so will need to go back and read the rest on the other forum. I assume it was a good trip?

Yep, all booked including the hotels. :) 3 nights Carriage House and 4 nights MGM Bungalow suite both weeks. However we will probably have one night somewhere mid strip when we are at the MGM, probably the second week.

I have found Paris for $60 which is very good for Paris so might go with that once I pin down OH as to which night.

We are there 17 September till 1 October. What time do you leave on 18 September and where will you be staying then? We might manage a whirlwind meet in the morning!

Thanks for reading my TR. I didn't know you were a member over there.
