Morning Guys! Been reading the thread for months now but thought I'd chip in....

We've been to Vegas each year for the past three but I've been faffing around with flights for months now and have missed some bargains (well compared to what I can find now!)

We're really flexible on dates ie anytime Sept/Oct but need to either fly from Manchester or Newcastle. Thomas Cooks prices are RIDICULOUS from Manchester and BA isn't great from Newcastle tp Heathrow, missed out on the £400 ones with United or AA from Manchester earlier this year, anyone reckon they'll come back?

Could kick myself.... would rather have the extra money for CRAPS ha ha

the fuller the plane the more expensive the flight . impossible to say if they will come back .Golden Rule : if you see a price you like , grab it quick . might only last hours .

the price may only be for a few seats , once they have been sold the price may very well go up .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

as pennylane mentioned this is a risk of closures update at 6pm
    sorry if I spooked you
I travelling back from singapore Tuesday

    Hey Trust,
You spooked me for the right reasons. We were over in Dublin for the weekend. Just about to board our plane on the way home at 12noon and they closed the airspace! Couldnt get home for two days - ferries all booked up - it was impossible. I am hoping that we used up our bad luck on that flight and our flight to Vegas on 30th June goes smoothly!

For now the next trip we have planed is September to Atlantic City, that should be an eye opener.

I was about to caution on this one until I read that you'd grown up not far from there and were going to use it as a base. :) We went a few years ago and it is totally different from Vegas as you know...unless something's changed I think you'll find the attitude of the place a lot different from Vegas but not necessarily better...customer service wise, certainly. I think because it's smaller and has such a strong locals base they don't really have to do nearly what the Vegas hotels do. And you'll know that the area is not very nice at all. We've always said we would go back as a side trip next time we go to NYC though, so it can't be all bad.. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We are kind of in the same boat - were looking in April for flights in October and found AA flights from London for the times we wanted for £425 in their last sale. We are also kicking ourselves as we can't get anywhere near those prices now. We're waiting now until a non-Vegas trip at the end of June/early July as that's a trip to visit family and if something happens (ash cloud) and we can't get out, we'll have to reschedule that for the fall...so now a bit stuck booking our October trip. We haven't found prices in the current sale anywhere near as low as we did before - even went to look after Luci had success in finding what she wanted at a good price, and nothing really suits us. It really is a gamble to wait so just depends on what you are seeing now and whether you are happy enough with them or whether you'd be OK to risk it and wait a bit for the chance at a lower fare (knowing it may go up).

Keep checking the AA fares. The flights I wanted were £100 pp more expensive when I checked them Friday night or Saturday morning. Checked them a few hours later and they had gone up another £100. The ones at the price I was prepared to pay had really horrible times with an early morning fliight out of Vegas, a 4 hour layover in DFW and a 5 hour layover at LHR.

Kept checking and couldn't believe it when the schedule I wanted appeared on Sunday morning £200 less than it was the night before.

I must have missed the AA email in April as I can't remember looking at fares then.

We've stayed at Bellagio twice and MGM once, love the Bellagio, last time we went we used the $20 trick and got a fountain view room for our 5 days as a comp upgrade! We could have chosen either that or a pool facing suite, def worthwhile being cheeky it was fab, would also recommend 'Fix' in the Bellagio for a light meal on an evening, wouldn't say it was cheap but it's an experience, even just to wonder in amazement at the number of fake boobed waitresses, I think I was more amazed than my husband!
