January , FebruaryIf pool is a priority (with kids it maybe) and you want to be on the strip it has to be MGM, or the Flamingo if you want central. Both have rooms with 2 queens as do most propertys on the strip (if not all)
Are the kids ?? 18 and 14 ok sharing a double bed. i wouldnt have shared with my brother at that age. If not it may be better for all of you to get 2 rooms, there are great deals at both Flamingo and MGM in august. Flamingo $39 a night and MGM about $60 a night
Cheers Photome
We read a few negatives about Flamingo, so didn't really consider it. Our boys will be fine a queen bed - we often take weekends away and book apartments with two double rooms.
You're right to put a question mark by the 'kids' comment - 18 year old is 6 foot 3 and the younger one is fast catching up!
Once they have finished half killing each other they soon settle:rotfl:The force is strong in this one!0 -

between Flamingo and MGM I prefer Flamingo but only because it is central a bit smaller, and the pool is more fun.
Rooms are a little bigger at MGM though.
What negatives have you read0 -
re: KA seating, where is recommended? I know a lot of people say further back is better, but where should i be aiming for?
Also, are the views to the side still ok? (ie. 201 / 203 etc)

Ahh, that makes it harder:rotfl:
A few comments about check in etc, I suppose it's really just that Flamingo never really features in anyone's picks.
I'll get to doing some price comparisons, three way now!The force is strong in this one!0 -
MayWe were staying at Bally's Sunday-Thursday in a North Tower room. The room was huge, but I thought it was a bit worn. Maybe we got one that wasn't refurbished.
I would certainly stay at Bally's again. The hotel is boring, but you are so central for everything and you don't need to stay in the hotel.
We are currently in a Celebrity Spa Suite at the MGM which is massive. We also like the MGM and it doesn't take long to get anywhere using the monorail.
Re a comparable hotel to the Strat. I would second the Imperial Palace. It is our least favourite hotel as it is so basic, but it is also the cheapest hotel you will find centre strip and OK if you are on a tight budget.
However I would also price Bally's or Flamingo as you can usually get rooms there for not a lot more. Check the Harrah's website for Hot Deals.0 -
AugustHi there, my boyfriend and I are booked up for 10 nights in Vegas in August/September this year staying at Mandalay Bay. I have been before, but this was 5 years ago now and I understand the prices of everything has went up, plus at the time the exchange rate was 2 dollars to the pound.
I was just wondering what everyone recommends as a typical days spending money?? Not including shopping and gambling, but just for food / drink / getting around etc. We have saved a lot already and have a target for taking with us so we are not paying off credit cards when we get back but would just like to have a rough idea of what people are spending there these days! ThanksLucky wins - Rituals Beauty Advent Calendar; Starbucks Coffee & £20 Gift Card; Amazing Hen Weekend at Dunblane Hydro; Heat Magazine Book Bundle; Le Crueset Goodies :j
Wishing everyone some magic fairy pixie dust for luck!0 -
MayI have checked the front page, but could not find the info on cash machines - can someone just confirm that the Casino Royale has the cheapest cash machine, I seem to remember this being the case?0

Just checked-out the Go Get Wet offer at Flamingo (not interested in Donny and Marie!)
7 night for $1125 - seems excellent and the room looks great
Do you know if the Go with a View rooms are worth the extra? The force is strong in this one!0 -
Septembernvh - we sat in section 202 on the very back row for KA and the seats were fab only down side for some might be that as your sat at the back and your higher up you could just (only just) see the guys bouncing in the net that catches them at odd times but this didnt bother us at all. I would defo sit around that area if we went again as you could see everything that was going off0
