re: KA seating, where is recommended? I know a lot of people say further back is better, but where should i be aiming for?
Also, are the views to the side still ok? (ie. 201 / 203 etc)
Personally Id go for 202.....but the theatre isnt that huge that there are any real bad seats.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

AprilI was just wondering what everyone recommends as a typical days spending money?? Not including shopping and gambling, but just for food / drink / getting around etc. We have saved a lot already and have a target for taking with us so we are not paying off credit cards when we get back but would just like to have a rough idea of what people are spending there these days! Thanks
It's one of those how long is a piece of string things. Some days we may spend very little on food, sometimes a bit more - it just depends on where we eat. You could spend $10 on food one day and $50 on food another day and more another day if you wanted - it really depends. As for drinks, it again depends where and what. Drinks are free if you are gambling (with tip for the waitress). There are some places you can get relatively cheap drinks (Casino Royale springs to mind)...but buying from most casino bars can be quite expensive. Last time we bought 2 drinks at a casino bar (Excalibur) it was $18 for 2 Amaretto sours if I remember correctly. Maybe that's not "expensive", but it seemed to be to us...maybe because we aren't big drinkers and normally get them from the waitress.
Maybe pick out some restaurants you are interested in and look for their menus online to get an idea of prices and use that as a guide. There are loads of options to save money on food like restaurant.com vouchers, vouchers you can find online, vouchers you can find in magazines in Vegas, American Casino Guide, Las Vegas Advisor member reward booklet (last 2 have a cost associated with them)Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AprilI have checked the front page, but could not find the info on cash machines - can someone just confirm that the Casino Royale has the cheapest cash machine, I seem to remember this being the case?
Last time we tried, yes, it was the cheapest - though Ellis Island was close but had a lower maximum withdrawal limit so kind of defeated the purpose...but we couldn't get our FairFX card to work in it (worked fine at the ATM at Bally's shortly after). There is supposed to be one at Walgreens that's less expensive than those in the casinos. We normally just use the ones in our home casino so we can stash the cash in the room...but if we're near one of the 'cheap' ones we will usually try it.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AprilWe were staying at Bally's Sunday-Thursday in a North Tower room. The room was huge, but I thought it was a bit worn. Maybe we got one that wasn't refurbished.
I think all of the north tower has been refurbished, but some longer ago than others. We have had a few rooms there that have shown some wear - mainly in the bathroom, the inserts below the sink area have paint chipping off them...but so far (knock wood) that's been the only sign of wear we've seen and compared to the south tower standard, unrefurbished rooms they're miles better.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Apriloh sorry yes that was for any london airport but dont live far from either heathrow or gatwick. it is indirect with an hour or so in houston or such the like. that is the price for both of us flights and hotel although i just edited my original post to change the dates as my mum has just informed me she can only look after my baby between 21st-29th aug (altho at a massive push i can guilt trip her into the week after lol - her work wont be impressed but if it saves me money lol)
thanks

Agree with the others - check flight prices first (use kayak.co.uk or similar to search all at once - if your dates can be at all flexible it may be worth using the flexible option and choosing one day before or after your dates as it can make a big difference at times - if you fly out on Sunday we've had times where we saved quite a lot over flying out on Saturday - just depends if the extra cost is worth the extra day). Then once you know what flight prices are you know what you have to work with to match or beat the package price.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
MayThanks for the info. You don't happen to know the charge and max withdrawl limit do you?0
-
AprilSorry, I can't remember exactly...I think Ellis Island was $1.50 but max withdrawal was $200 so we skipped it. Casino Royale used to be $1, but seems like it may have gone up. I seem to recall the maximum withdrawal was $800+ (as that's what we were trying to withdraw the time we had trouble). Luci or Pebbles might have more recent info since they're there at the moment...others may have better memories than I do too.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

What's the best way to book for a large-ish group (7 at the moment). Is it better value to book seperate rooms of 2 or book one suite for all of us? I can only seems to find suites big enough for 4 people - maximum of 6 at the Bellagio but that's silly money.0

Aprilmost places will charge you $30-$50 more per night for every person over 2...so booking multiple rooms will likely work out the better option...plus gives everyone more breathing space...though I suppose it depends on which hotel - if the per-night price is quite high to start with then maybe in some cases a room of 3 and a room of 4 would work out better. Just really depends.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
