October , NovemberI clicked through from the link above for the Cirque offer and it all looked fine, but when I try to check dates in October for Ka it wants me to input a special offer code before it'll let me go any further so I can't see any prices etc. I've had a search round on the web but not seeing anything other than the link posted on here - does anyone have any ideas of what the offer code would be? Or is October likely to be outside of the offer dates and that's why it won't let me through?0

hi guys
i have read as much of this post as possible so apologys if this is a repeat post or a silly question. i have been to vegas before and we stayed at the strasophere and we found it all fine - good price - didnt mind taking the bus etc but im wondering if there are better places for similar money. i have trawled the net (but not as good as you guys would do im sure) and i can find a deal on last minute dot com for the dates i want which is 21st August to 28th september (unless you know of any reason why not like conventions, weather etc as we can be flexible on dates but has to be sat to sat as oh works mon-fri and has to take a week hols around aug/september time)
on this post i see you are all recommending booking via the hotels to get a better price and i also see alot of you are recommending the wynn but when i go on the website its really quite pricey - am i missing something important lol??
also when i goto the airlines directly its really expensive.
at the moment the last minute dot com deal is flights and 7 nights at the stratosphere for £1286. this is really more than i want to pay but think i will have to!
any ideas or help would be really appreciated
its for our honeymoon if that makes any difference?

well the difference in quality between The Stratosphere and Wynn is HUGE literally the 2 ends of the Vegas strip hotel spectrum , so no wonder you are seeing a big price difference .
Imperial Palace is more central strip and more on a par with The Stratosphere quality level . if you could stretch to a bit more places like MGM Grand , Ballys , Luxor or maybe even Monte Carlo would be a jump up in quality . i'd be wary about Tropicanna , or Hooters unless you know what you are booking . Exaclibur can be very good value if you get the right deal and don't mind no bath ect .
Atlas Choice and City and Show seem to best prices at the moment , also check the links in post 1 for deal listing websites . there is no easy price compare site you can type your dates into and see what the best deal is though , you need to do the homework .
out of interest what prices are flights booked direct with the airlines . ??Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Hi Peeps
Thinking it's about time to make the hotel booking for our family trip at the end of August (25th for 7 nights) and would appreciate the thoughts of the Vegas experts, based upon the following 'loose' criteria
We are a family of 4, two boys 18 and 14 - I have been to Vegas, but this'll be the others 1st trip to America- Location - would quite like centre strip, for easy walking to the main views (the fountains, volcano, Forum shops etc.)
- Room - wife would like something fairly spacious - 2 queens I would think, most suites seem to only offer 1 king bed
- Ameneties - no interest in the casino (I know, why Vegas then!). Reasonable pool would be good for a lazy day or two
So far I am considering Ballys (central, OK pool as I remember), MGM, bit further out - but excellent pool and larger rooms, maybe Paris - poor pool, but looks nice.
I would really appreciate a few suggestions
Thanks:)
probably won't go far wrong with Ballys . our resident Ballys expert Ferf will advise on room types , layout ect . but MGM Grand , Luxor , Mandalay Bay , Mirage , TI , PH , NYNY ect are all fine hotels . depends on the price difference of course . if Ballys price = Wynn price then of course go for the Wynn , but in the middle ground there isn't huge amounts in it for me personally
you should be able to find rooms with 2 beds fairly easily ( lots of single sex groups go to Vegas after all)Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

We stayed at Paris last trip and we enjoyed our stay - but would go back to Bally's before staying at Paris again. The rooms are just that bit larger which makes it nice (we think)...and the North Tower rooms at Ballys are nicer than the standard rooms at Paris. We didn't stay in a P room or a red room so can't compare to those upgrades.
But the south tower rooms at Bally's are pretty worn...so it depends on how picky you are on that sort of thing. The north tower rooms are pretty nice we think. Maybe some MGM rooms are bigger than Bally's, but certainly not the West Wing rooms. Luci did get an upgrade to a suite in the south tower and I think she was quite happy with it. Not sure if it had one or two beds though.
The only other thing is that overall Bally's is a bit of a boring property (which is OK with us). So in that respect, and with regard to the pool, maybe MGM is a better choice....it's certainly a more exciting place for the younger ones I would think. I would put Paris 3rd of your choices based on what you say your priorities are.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AprilFor anyone in Vegas or departing shortly who was planning on photos with the lion cubs at MGM - there's a notice on their site that the trainer injured his shoulder so there will not be any pictures until 17th May.

I cannot believe how big our little Blackjack has gotten already!Based on the photos the cubs are now too old to be held I think - they are more the size of Chili/Pepper when we had our photo with him/her a few years ago - when they sit on the table like in the photos on their site at the moment and you stand behind with your hand on their back.

How much can you get flights alone for?
It would then give everyone a budget to work to.0 -

If pool is a priority (with kids it maybe) and you want to be on the strip it has to be MGM, or the Flamingo if you want central. Both have rooms with 2 queens as do most propertys on the strip (if not all)
Are the kids ?? 18 and 14 ok sharing a double bed. i wouldnt have shared with my brother at that age. If not it may be better for all of you to get 2 rooms, there are great deals at both Flamingo and MGM in august. Flamingo $39 a night and MGM about $60 a night0 -

Many thanks for your helpful replys.
Looks like MGM is favourite then, with Bally's second.
Ferf, your tips about which towers are great
CheersThe force is strong in this one!0
