MayHi and welcome to the thread!
Some comments on MAG HERE
It's a nice restaurant and the food is good, especially the Filet Mignon with Merlot butter, but it's more casual that for a very special occasion. It's the kind of place you could go at any time. I think we were there 3 times last trip.
You cannot book a table on the patio, they are on a first come first served basis. However request on when you arrive and they will give you a pager so you can go and gamble while you're waiting.
The view of the fountains isn't that great as there is a line of trees in the middle of the strip which blocks the view somewhat.
Plenty of jewellers in Vegas, including Tiffany at the Bellagio I think. Jewellery is expensive in Vegas, but I have bought a few things as there are some bargains to be had.0 -
New poster but hoping one of you could help.
I'm off to Vegas in the summer with my girlfriend and have a couple of quick questions:
Has anyone eaten at Mon Ami Gabi? Would you recommend it as from tripadvisor it sounds perfect for a special occassion with the patios having great views of the fountains.
Secondly, do people know whether there are good jewellers in Vegas, in particular for engagement rings. As a comparison we don't live too far from Birmingham which seems to be always recommended for this so I don't know how the two places would compare.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
I havent eaten there but lots have and everyone who does will recomend it. I am going to try it this year for my 50th birthday.:j:j
Jewellers!!!! You can buy the best of everything in Vegas, I have never been in one, as the armed guards put me off..only joking, but there are some seriously high class jewellers there

I wouldnt dare go in just incase my wife buys something when my back is turned0 -
JuneI am off to California/Arizona/Nevada in June and we took the plunge and bought our currency over the last week or so to lock in a 1.5:1.
I was a little disappointed to get nearly all of it in $100 cheques or notes. Any advice on using these over there, as trying to pay for stuff with £50 notes over here isn't exactly easy sometimes..0 -

if you aren't after the top-of-the line sort of engagement ring, all of the shopping malls have chain-type jewellers and you'll get a much better deal than in the UK (at least in my experience). Anytime I've wanted any sort of jewellery I've waited until we got to the US, though I don't know how prices compare to Birmingham. Maybe you could check some of their websites to get an idea of prices?

But I understand that some may not want to go to a chain for something like an engagement ring...I did though.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

$100 notes are accepted everywhere.
You will have no problem spending/gambling with them.0 -

The only place you may have trouble is small shops/convenience stores/petrol stations...sometimes they do not accept $50 or $100 bills. I would think that travellers cheques will be no problem. If your trip were just to Vegas you would have no problem at all as you can always break notes at the cage or the bill breakers in the casinos...but depending on where in CA and AZ you may have a few issues, but mostly you will be fine.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
