Augustwhats people thoughts on continential airlines?? on them from heathrow in aug. flights were DEAD cheap so hopeing we wont loose out on a nice flight.

April- Has anyone flown with US Airways (on/via the Philadelphia route) or Delta (either the JFK/Atlanta route) from Manchester, and if so, do both provide in-seat entertainment systems? From what I can tell US Airways do, but I’m not sure about the Delta planes?
It's not always just down to the airline, but down to the type of aircraft the airline uses for each particular flight. We've flown with AA a few times out of LHR but always are sure to book on flights where they use a 777 and not one of the smaller planes - you can see this when looking at the flight options under the flight details.. IFE is not a deciding factor for us as we both travel with plenty of entertainment on our portable systems...but I do like the flight map and having seat-back TV means it's an option if I want it. Ultimately just because it has seat-back IFE doesn't mean it will be working - we've had flights with Continental, Delta, Virgin which had seat-back IFE, but one issue or another (no video/static/no sound).
But I agree with the others - £415 is a great price and if the connection times are good for you I would personally be booking.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

We used to fly with them almost exclusively many years ago...flight-wise they were fine - not great, not awful...but two...wait, no three, terrible terrible experiences with them from a customer service standpoint means we are unlikely to use them again while there are other options. I wouldn't necessarily say that they should be avoided, but any airline that oversells a trans-atlantic flight by 23 seats should perhaps be given due consideration.
I should note that for all I know many airlines oversell their trans-atlantic flights by that number...but this was the only time it impacted us...so Continental are on our list.
We actually have enough miles to each have a free flight with them and yet we never really even think about using them.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

We fly into housten then out to vegas, so hopefully they dont over book, or if they do, they upgrade US into business class (I wish)

Have you made seat requests? If not I would do that and then watch them...we had, and the return leg (via Houston) seats disappeared a few days before we departed from London. We called and were assured all was OK...when we checked in at LAS for the return flight they said 'oh, sorry, we can't give you your boarding cards for the Houston to London leg but they will do that at Houston'...such lies.I'm sure it's not a normal thing with them and really don't want to worry you as our experience was just one of many, most of which were perfectly fine.
I should add, we DID get on the flight...but only because a connecting flight from Cancun was delayed and the passengers didn't make it in time...we got the last 2 seats (which thankfully were together).

its me again! just booked the mgm for the first 3 night of my trip - paid $224 for 3 nights and that inc ludes tax and was booked on the crazy 8 deal
anyway i quite fancy the wynn for the remaining 4 nights and have found it for £308.21 through travel supermarket which then put me through to travel republic. does any1 know if there is a resort fee? and i am assuming that figure doesnt include the 12% tax?
it just seemed like a great price and i would be keen to book it. the only downside is that it isnt full refundable!
any thoughts on this price?0 -

There isn't a resort fee at Wynn. I would have thought the quote would have included the tax but don't know for sure.
Have you checked cityandshow.com - others here have found good rates for Wynn there...worth comparing.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
