MarchWill any of you have a laptop with you ?
Why not go on-line once you've checked in for the flight if you're worried about booking beforehand. Check out the links on page 1 and also priceline and hotwire.
If you turn up on spec without a reservations you'll end up paying a LOT more.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

MayAHHHHH don't suppose anyone can help?!?!?
Long story short was meant to be flying to SanFran today, obviously this didn't happen. Have just managed to get flights to Vegas from Manchester on Wednesday, I'm trying not to get too excited as know it may not happen.
Thing is I have cancelled my hotel reservation at Planet Hollywood and they can't reinstate the booking. There will be 3 of us for 7 nights but being so close to departure I'm not finding much. We were paying £460 all in but understand we will have to pay more now... would we be okay just turning up somewhere without a reservation?!? Just in case we don't make it??
Any ideas where to get decent deals so close to departure?
Thanks for any advice...
You may find it tricky at immigration if you've nowhere booked as they ask you for the address of where you'll be staying for your first night. I've never had it checked, but if they do and find out you're not telling the truth you'll probably be refused entry and that could mean never being allowed back! There is no such thing as a free lunch. Its only free because you've paid for it.
Noone can have everything they want and the sooner you learn that the better.

just wondering which room ppl would recommend? or is there a change of upgrade to the west wing king room etc?
Haven't stayed in either but photos posted last year by another poster ensure that I will never stay in a west wing room.

The green bit above the bed was (unless I am remembering incorrectly) the only window in the room...and it's tiny, tiny, tiny compared to many rooms in Vegas.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

It might be a time to try 3rd parties if you have looked via the normal routes and not found anything suitable. I don't normally think that priceline or hotwire are good for Vegas but for last minute perhaps they are - but be sure you know what hotels you might get before bidding so you're not disappointed.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AprilThanks for the advice... I think the flight will be cancelled anyway judging by what I have just read. Just not meant to be!
Have decided against booking anything else as have lost too much money as it is, will take a little netbook with me so that if we check-in we can just book something. Saw the Luxor was £510 with netflights, not really where we wanted to stay but desperate times!!!
Thanks again :-):j :j0 -

thanks in advance - i know i ask a lot of questions and you guys are always so kind as to share your opinions x
Having seen photos of the WW rooms and having walked past them and glanced in, there is no way I would "upgrade" to one of those. They are TINY!
It looks as if you can touch the walls on either side lying in bed. The sink is in the room and as I understand it, there is a glass door on the bathroom so you need to be very comfortable with whoever you are sharing with.
I also believe they only have one king bed and not two queens and they are non-smoking.
On the positive side they are more modern that the Grand Tower rooms and have quick access to the strip.0 -
October , Novemberthanks ferf & luci for that info
as we are there for 7 nights - we wanted to stay in 2 diff hotels so thats why i had opted for mgm for the first 3 nights, then poss 4 nights in wynn just so we will see 2 diff sides to the strip if that makes sense.
the very top of our budget is £600 per couple for the 7 nights (2 couples going). so by booking the mgm on either of the above deals allows us approx £400 per couple for the wynn for 4 nights.
feel free to suggest any other hotel combinations for our stay - we fly 10th november, returning on 17th november
thanks again0 -
Hi all,
As a first time poster I’d firstly like to thank everyone for their contributions. I’ve been following this forum now for a few months as me and my girlfriend are planning on going back to Vegas in September for the third time in three years (we’re on a roll!), so thanks for all the promotion codes and hints and tips.
Anyway, I’d really appreciate some information/advice regarding flights from Manchester. We’ve considered flying from London, but when combining the additional cost and problems associated with getting to/from London we’ve decided that we’d really like to fly with Manchester and accept that we’d need to change flights in the US. Based on this I’ve done a lot of research and am currently considering our options for who to fly with, and when to book and when apprecaite any advice on the following:
- Has anyone flown with US Airways (on/via the Philadelphia route) or Delta (either the JFK/Atlanta route) from Manchester, and if so, do both provide in-seat entertainment systems? From what I can tell US Airways do, but I’m not sure about the Delta planes?
- I see that American Airlines have a sale on at the moment and you can get flights for approx £415 in September, which is great. However, I looked on Seat Guru and it appears that the AA Boeing planes that will be used from Manchester (via Chicago) don’t have in-seat entertainment in economy. As a result I’m more that happy to bide my time, keep getting my daily Kayak alerts and hopefully wait for a dip in price on US Airways or Delta to around the £450 mark. However, if there are no guarantees that their planes will have in-seat entertainment I feel I may be better just biting the bullet and booking with AA now in the sale.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly received. I realise that I may be sounding a bit picky here, especially when AA flights are currently so cheap, but I don’t feel that I’m asking too much for an airline to provide a decent entertainment system on a relatively long-haul flight. Having flown the Gatwick-Vegas route last year on Virgin I’d happily settle for something comparable even though that flight seems to come in for an awful lot of flack.
Many thanks0 -

my green card says 'in transit' right now. Lol. Looks like our flight home tomorrow might be cancelled again. The next available seats are the 29th! Might need to up my credit card limit, as right now we have to pay for hotels etc and claim back later..... Just want to get homeLove MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
JuneHi all,
- Has anyone flown with US Airways (on/via the Philadelphia route)
I flew the london to Philly route on US Airways a couple of years ago in Business Class they had screens, but in economy there was a projector/screen at the front of each section. The seats were just as old, tatty and uncomfortable too.
The plane was the oldest i think ive ever been on, it was a throwback to the 70s/80s and it is this model that I am basing my upcoming flight on the Virgin LGW-LAS flight in June to see how bad that really is0
