So excited, just booked for Vegas 6th to 13th May for my 40th birthday. Any hints or tips to get best value for shows etc, would be greatly appreciated. Booked with expedia but no availabilty at MGM Grand for the 11th & 12th, so had to book these two dates direct with hotel. Can't wait!! :j

Luci - we will have a look at Stripburger when we move to Encore since we'll be in the neighborhood...I'd understood it was closed since the walk-up taco stand was going in there, but if they are still selling certificates possibly not.

mooky - glad you are having a good trip and hope the wedding was great. We've made it over to Ballys a few times - next time we'll peek in the poker area and see if we see anyone who might be you and wave frantically (and then get kicked out for being nutters).

For those with the LVA MRB - the 2 free buffets for earning 100 points at PH is now 200 points since HET's Total Rewards credits are earned more quickly than the old PH A-List points. Still a great deal - we earned 200 points just playing normally (for us) and had free dinner last night. Figure that was worth $60 so way more than the membership cost us.

Also - according to the signs we saw yesterday, they have moved the Rio shuttle back to Ballys (where it was originally) from Paris...so that may mean it will not be as crowded as it was from Paris.

Ooooh either I gambled too much last week or Harrahs got more generous. Before I went away I checked propective dates for the summer and TR were offering me comps for the Flamingo week days only-looked again this week and the weekend nights are now comped too............seems rude not to accept

just booked vegas for 8 nights in august for my 21st

Apart from the obv. (grand canyon) whats the must do in vegas??

Also were thinking of doing the Sky Jump off the Stratosphere, anyone done this?? whats it like??

New Ace bus route now open. Runs the strip, downtown and more importantly to some, out to the outlet malls. Here it is and the fares look pretty good as well here

Looks pretty good to me, I've vowed never to use the Deuce again so this is a great alternative. A 5-day pass for $20 seems a bargain - I just can't work out the best way (place) to buy it ! We'll really get some use out of this getting to & from Encore.

EDIT: Just realised, will be driving into Vegas this time so can call at the South Strip Transfer Terminal on our way to pick up the passes - problem solved.
