Glad you are all happy with CCE. I am due to get mine in 2 weeks, but like you, it is always at the back of my mind that there is no protection for your money.

I hope that they have Cancelled Contracts again in the future as they give a much better rate. We locked in at $1.74 for half our expected cash spend.

i used them last year and they were fine and i have used them again this year getting a significantly better rate than i could have got anywhere else. yes, there is a risk but out of all the replies online from people that have used them i dont think there i have read one negative thing about them

we segregate “Client Money” from the company’s money and hold it separately in an EEA regulated credit institution. The credit institution has specifically acknowledged that the money in these accounts belongs to our clients and they have no right of set off with any of the firm’s balances. This arrangement is designed to ensure that “Client Money” is not at risk in the unlikely event of Caxton getting into financial difficulties. These arrangements are checked and verified by our auditors

Agreed - but there's no protection if they go bust...that's the worrying thing to a lot of people. Same with currency cards like FairFX...they are OK if FairFX go bust, but not if the bank that backs the cards goes bust...probably something none of us would have worried about until the events of the last couple of years have unfolded. :)

Yeah - but that's only if Caxton go bust.
Not if the bank where the funds are held goes bust.

True ferf - but quite often these large companies spread client funds across a number of banks.

ah, sure - hadn't thought of that...just that the FairFX card T&Cs when they came through specifically said you're out of luck if NBS went bust (not in those exact words of course ) which surprised me since they have a similar 'is my money safe?' email they send out...which covers only FairFX, not the bank where the money is helpd...so I assume that Caxton will be the same.

MGM Grand seems to be coming in pretty cheap for September - Just managed to bag 3 nights at the end of September for a not too shabby £177!

Basic room at the MGM of good quality? I am not too fussy when it comes to rooms (in Vegas it's just a place to drop your bags and a couple of hours sleep) tbh but thought I would get people's opinion

I'm always wary about buying my dollars up front...I realise you can get some good deals but knowing my luck the dollar would rise dramatically just after I'd bought at a low rate....I'm sticking to keeping an eye on my local travel agents rates and buying when they are up....I know I won't get the best deal but at least it's risk free

Presumably you mean $177 - thats OK.

Basic rooms are fine at MGM - one category up from basic though (West Wing?) is quite a small room.

    Hi all,

I have been browsing this thread for a long time and managed to get some great advice and tips from you all! So now I'm wondering if you can help me a little more?

We are going to Las Vegas in June for a week and already have 2 trips planned one to the grand canyon and one on a scoot tour... scootcitytours.com (Bargain at $110 for the 2 of us!

What else can you people advice as a must do/see whilst we are there? We of course want to fit as much in as we can!

    Thanks
