Thanks duchy - we'll get there by hook or by crook! They did offer to fly us on Friday, but we thought missing the wedding wasn't really an option :rotfl:

Any other time, I'd bite your hand, arm and legs off for 3 extra nights in Vegas!
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

Just move the wedding to Vegas ...problem solved :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

My flight is overbooked (not surprising really) in economy -I don't know if I should wish for an upgrade or to get offered a bump (which would mean traveling to Heathrow for the next flight but some nice compensation)

Don't forget we want a full wedding report with piccies

    Hi Guys,

I've read a few articles about the $20 sandwich upgrade (tipping the check in desk $20 for a room upgrade) (putting the $20 inbetween your passport and checkin details)

Does this generally work or a bit of a myth??????

Im staying in the Bellagio in about a months time and will probably give it a go, but i think i may need more than $20. More like $50???

Any experiences of this would be very helpful....

    Cheers

Yes it works.....sometimes (which I guess you know if you've read about it)
Might be one of the more profitable wagers you can make in Vegas :)

And yes $50 for the Bellagio although tbh you are unlikely to spending much time in your room for a first visit anyway so if it's "worth it" or not might be in question.

Yes and Yes.......but I've also got upgraded several times with no tip -didn't even have to ask. Generally speaking the shorter the stay the better the chance of an upgrade either way though.

    Here we go again;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

As far as I understand all of the 777 flights are running through the strikes, it's mainly the Euro and 747's that are effected. I can only see it getting better not worse, as more and more trolley dollies (lets be honest, that is all they are, I am sure I could get myself off of a plane in case of emergency, being a grown up and all that) start realising that this is a fruitless cause that they will not win, and not getting any help at all from the press, well except for the Socialist Worker
