MarchThere are no flight deals at the moment, only ones leaving within the next couple of weeks as far as im aware.
In terms of strikes i think there is every possibility there will be more strikes, the best advice would be to avoid BA under the current circumstances.
Yep, avoid BA - possibly more strikes planned for mid April. The 14th was mentioned before but nothing actually confirmed yet (and yes, we're flying back on the 15th so I'm watching it closely!) :-)Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
Hi, im a soldier who will be soon returning from Afghanistan. My fiance and myself wish to go to Vegas to get married. Have been looking over all this threads and lots of good info.
But wondering if i ask the following questions....
1. Does anyone know if any of the hotels do military rates?
2. Thinking of getting married in the Little Chapel in the West (?)...anyone have any experiences of it?
3. In respect of Ques 3, is it better to use a hotel wedding package instead?
It will only be me and partner and best man and g/f so not needing the all singing dancing ceremony. But she will be wearing a proper wedding gown (as my bank account found out other day!)
We are thinking either Oct/Nov this year or June/July/Aug next year.
Many thanks for any help you can all give.
it is totally up to you how you get married . if your happy with a simple service at the Chapel , then if they are anything like Little White Wedding Chapel then you can pick from variously priced packages . they have it like a Menu almost and you just pick and then add on bits as you wish .
some people get married in t shirts , some people get married in trad wedding clothes . you want it , you can do it .
you might be able to get a Military rate , but you should not bank on it . keep you eyes open on the deal threads and sites and you should get as low a rate as possible .Thanks for all the useful advice so far. Going to Vegas in June for 7 nights, how much cash should i take?
There are 4 of us going all together so we will be using a "kitty" to pay for comunal things like food & drink, - i don't anticipate gambling much, probably prepaired to lose £10/£20 per night and i will also have my credit card (post office) for any big buys - How much cash would you think is enough
Thanks in advance
Simple answer is AS MUCH AS YOU CAN !!!
you can eat dirt cheap or super expensive . there is a floor for how low you can get merry drinking on . Casino Royale does the cheapest beer ,but it ain't the sort of place to sit around , chill and talk in .
BTW guys , advance notice . i'm off to (hopefully) sunny Spain in a week for 2 weeks . Okay not quite LV , but i am looking forward to it a lot as we are going with Family .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
MayEnjoy your break trets. Where in Spain are you off to? We usually have a week in Spain, either Benidorm or the Costa del Sol, at Xmas/New Year and enjoy it in a different way to Vegas.0

I've just come back home from seven nights in Vegas and thought I'd give a brief list of the things I liked like about the trip:-
Likes.
My room at Caesers Palace (Palace Tower)
Breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi
Big Elvis at Bill's Gambling Hall
Joel Robuchon restaurant at the MGM Grand
The buffets at the Mirage and the Rio hotels
The Cirque du Soleil show 'Love' at the Mirage
The Peppermill Lounge
Ross Dress For Less
Noodles Restaurant at the Bellagio
Only being charged $10 to go from the hotel to the airport
There are loads more, but the lack of sleep has fried my brain!!!This is my quest, to follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far.0 -
SeptemberHave a good holiday in Spain trets
We love Sapain....off to Benidorm in May and Benalmadena in July:hello: LORRAINE :hello:0 -
Hi
Been to Ross Dress For Less in Florida, but thought the one in Vegas up at the Riviera didn't look that enticing from the outside.
Are there any others, or is that one up North Strip actually any good?
I also like Marshalls (Boulevard Mall, Red Rock).0 -
Well I thought there were a lot of bargains at Ross Dress For Less. I bought a fairly big Samsonite suitcase for $40, which I thought was a fantastic deal. You've got to spend a while in there though because there is a lot of stuff. This is my quest, to follow that star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far.0

AprilIt's funny that the Ross thing has come up but I've meant to check it out for a few years and never made it...since we're staying at Encore I figure I'll wander over there one day and check it out.
I suspect it's like TK Maxx or any of the outlets really - sometimes you can find loads, sometimes nothing...and you've got to have the stamina to keep at it...which I usually don't but I'm willing to give it a try.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
AprilThanks, we will probably have 2/3 nice meals during stay the rest of the time will be cheap and cheerful - I would imagine we will spend a bit on cocktails as i'm sure we will be drinking most nights - do you still get "free" cocktails if you are playing the slot machines?
Yes you still get free cocktails when playing the slots - they may not be quite as strong as those you pay for but they've certainly always been fine with us...you'll find if you give the waitress a decent tip on the first round chances are she'll be back frequently. Where are you staying?
I'd suggest you have a look around and get an idea of a few restaurants you want to try and then check their websites - many have menus with prices, or menus with prices can be found elsewhere online.
In general I'd say we each spend $5-$15 for breakfast, $5-$20 for lunch and $7-40 for dinner (excluding drinks) but it's quite a large range because we have a lot of favorites (some very cheap, some not so much). We typically have breakfast and dinner. Not sure what's a 'nice' meal - to one person it would be a $25 steak and frites at Mon Ami Gabi, to another it would be the $100 basic tasting menu at Joël Robuchon...to someone else it would be the tasting menu with wine pairings at Alex for $300.
Also not sure what cheap and cheerful is - to some it might be a $1.50 hot dog at Bill's and to others it might be a $10 sandwich at any number of places or a $25 steak and frites at Mon Ami Gabi.
There really is such a wide choice and wide range of prices as to be very difficult to suggest what someone who's never been might spend.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Looks like there are 10 Ross stores in the greater Las Vegas area.
