    Re: The $20 trick.

I tried this at the Pallazo last December. The girl behind the front desk was a little embarrassed and told me that it is frowned upon there by the management and that anyone taking the tip would be fired.

That said, she upgraded us anyway and handed back the money. But she did seem genuinely worried about the whole thing.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhh , did not know this forum existed and have just spent the last 6 hours trawling it , IT IS FANTASTIC , I am on various other vegas forums, but wish I had known about this years ago.
We have been to vegas 3 times before 2006,07and 09 and have stayed at the Bellagio,Ballys,Golden Nugget and the Stratosphere,Although the Bellagio is definatley the best we love staying at the Stratosphere,(all this rubbish about it being too far from everyehere is just total nonsence )staff are always helpful and polite, and the rooms are clean , beer is cheap and reasonable odds in the casino , what more could I ask for.
Usually it is just me and the wife but this year we are taking 3 vegas virgins ,both daughters 22 and 24 and my 77 year old dad, we have allways flown from glasgow with a flight change in either Minnieapolis or Atlanta ,but because of my fathers age we have decided to fly from Aberdeen to HWR direct to Vegas.
Sept 14th to Sept 24th ( best time of year to visit, well except for last year when it was over 100 degrees ) 5 people 9 nights in the Stratosphere in 3 premier strip view !!!!! rooms flying with BA ,Limo booked $177 inc 2 bottles of "champagne" strip tour and return to airport, and insurance, for a deal with expedia for £4001 , £800pp which is not a bad deal for what we are getting.
Cant wait , and now that I have found this forum, I wont get any damn sleep between now and Sept.
    Keep up the excellent work.

Welcome to the thread . sounds like you have a great trip coming up .

i look forward to the day when we are able to afford to take some family over who are Vegas virgins . :A

Now where is that lottery ticket :D:D
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Welcome to another Stratosphere fan. I like the low stakes single Zero roullette wheel, and never had any problem with the area

A post on another Vegas thread says that MGM are introducing a resort fee and it will be applied retrospectively. Think this comes from the LVA.
These fees are spreading which is bad news

there was a mention on one of the Mandalay Bay offers that someone recently posted that a $15 resort fee would be applied from June, so guess that will apply to all the MGM group hotels

Out of interest, did you read what the proposed MGM resort fee is likely to be? And is this definately going ahead or just a rumour? I've tried Googling but it's not coming up with anything except an LVA article from yesterday that I can't read as I'm not a member.

It's especially annoying if they do decide to apply it retrospectively, as one of the reasons we've booked the MGM (and I'm sure we're not the only ones) is that their lack of resort fee makes their prices so great - adding another $15 or $20 a night would be a different story.

    Hi all,

Just reading a few posts regarding the resort fee.

I am staying in the Bellagio and have bought my holiday package through Expedia.

Does the Bellagio have a resort fee? and would this be included in the holiday package or additional at the end of the trip?

    Thanks
