It's fine- I use that route a lot Atlanta's a huge but easy airport and I like the Delta southern style of service too. The FA's also make a good mojhito cocktail-it's a Delts signeture drink :)

    Another hotel question!

I have found a very good deal at the MGM Grand through cityandshow.com, which is quite a bit less than anywhere else i can find.

Has anyone else used cityandshow before for a hotel booking? Are they reliable?

    Thanks

My sister has used Cityandshow previously and didn't have any problems that I am aware of. Have you tried the MGM promo code MGM039? I found that was pretty cheap for my trip in August, and I have booked with it. HTH!

Thanks for the comments about mandalay bay, it's great to hear that people have enjoyed it there! We're there for my boyfriend's 30th so i was really worried that the hotel wasn't gonna be good. We've paid about £70 a night which I'm pretty happy with based on those reviews.

Like I said, we're off in a few weeks so I'll be lurking around here alot until then. Based on the last few comments, I'm extremely glad I'm not flying with virgin. We're flying from Gatwick via Atlanta with Delta, has anyone done that route? is it okay?

I did that route, but departing from MAN in September. Flights were no problem and on the return journey we flew right over the Grand Canyon! Got a fabulous view - even better than the one we had when we visited!

Is that from Newcastle? Going to check out the flight durations, always seems like a good plan to go with one or two stops but a killer on the way back!

Have you tried calling Trailfinders for flights? They sell the BA flights and the Virgin linked with FlyBe from NCL. When I called about a price they were able to sell you a package deal, with your flight and hotel where you would only have to pay a £175 deposit and the final balance 2 months before departure. It's handy because it offers you protection in the way that if BA scaled back their schedule and you had to stay in Vegas for an extra day or something Trailfinders would find you an extra night at no extra charge. It's worth thinking about if the price is right!

Is anyone off to Vegas in the next couple of weeks? We're going on 24th - just hope the weather here improves!

laragh we are flying from Newcastle, down to Heathrow and then onwards direct via BA. Sometimes the routes from Newcastle are so long, via Amsterdam or Paris etc. I'm quite looking forward to the novelty of a direct flight from the UK, it's been a few years and the last time was BMI from Manchester. Only thing that worries me is the last time I travelled BA they lost our luggage

You feel free to "make friends" with middle class morons- who think it's acceptable to feel up the flight attendents and call them C's right in front of kids too- if you like. I'm a little pickier !!

That's how bad it was-and my comment about "like Wetherspoons on a Saturday night" isn't how I *imagine* one to be-I've actually worked in one of the larger ones so I'm pretty unshockable. This wasn't lighthearted drunkeness-this was simply foul.

sorry it wasn't directed at you personally...I just picked your post to quote out of many who were commenting about stag parties on a plane.....

I did notice loads of people tutting and complaining on our flight instead of just talking to those concerned....moaning and griping did them no good whatsoever whereas all we did is have a word with 2 of the party in a friendly manner and the noise was instantly stopped.......people up the front however who !!!!!ed and moaned about the stag party in their seating area got nowhere....I was just giving avice in general to people not used to a situation like that.....not everyone goes out to bars on a regular basis and some people just dont have a clue how to dissolve a situation.
If you took offence at my comments I'm sorry but as I said it wasn't personal just saying what we did

Anyone driven from Las Vegas to LA?

If so, how much did it roughly cost and how long of a journey is it?

    Thanks.

Five hours including lunch to LAX.

Directions.....Turn right at Caesars, turn left onto I15, drive for three hundred miles, arrive LAX.

About a tank of petrol......£25 or so.

Its a real tumbleweed kinda journey.

If you have time, stop off at Primm for the Outlet Mall.....only one with the Hollister Outlet.

we were in a pyramid spa suite at the luxor last year. nothing wrong with the room, decor a little dated but clean, tidy and a decent size. Paid $495 inc tax/fees for the 5 nights (sun-thur) and the spa tub was great.

Yep, so Newcastle to either Heathrow and book BA all the way, or Newcastle to Gatwick and book Virgin all the way :-).
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!
