January , FebruaryHi Folks
Following my problems back in February (trip cancelled due to flight cancellation) I have just re-booked for the summer hols - 25 August - 1 Sept
Got a great deal on the flights - Delta, out of Gatwick and back into Heathrow at £403 per person. No long delays on the transfers (Atlanta out and Minneapolis return).
Just need to book a hotel, but I assume not too much of a rush yet? We had booked Paris previously and I'll likely go for the Harrahs group next time as no resort fees and centre of the strip.
Back to being a happy bunny and really looking forward to the trip!:)The force is strong in this one!0 -
MayAw that's great news Boa. I'm so pleased for you.
Check out some of the links I've posted as a lot of them run till the end of the year. Not many for Harrah's properties though.0 -
January , FebruaryThanks Luci, I have been following them along
I'll likely book after 6 April. It's the way I juggle my credit card and why I booked the flights today.
I don't put too much on in any one month so I clear it and pay no interest - in the spirit of money saving.
I also managed to switch my car hire to the new dates with Carhire3000, so didn't loose any money there (but they are a bit more expensive for August). The force is strong in this one!0 -
Hey, my mate got done for drink driving a few years ago. Would this be a problem for him going to las vegas in september?
thats a criminal record and means he does not qualify for entry to USA under the Visa Waiver scheme . he will need to get a Visa by booking a appointment and attending a interview at the American Embassy .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_Waiver_Program
he may also have difficulty in hiring a car .
you should post this question on the Main forum for more info .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Can someone please offer me advice.
Im going to vegas in september with a friend. Neither of us have been before. I've looked at the offers in this thread and found the MGM Grand, Luxor and New York New York to all be around $200 for the 3 night's we'll be in vegas. Can anyone tell me which of these hotels would be best?
Thanks
forgot to mention, MGM comes with:
* $25 Entertainment credit
* Two (2) Complimentary poolside cocktails
* Two (2) Complimentary inner tube rentals at the MGM Grand Pool
* Two (2) Complimentary spa access passes
and New York with:
Book NOW and receive:
2 Free Drinks
2-for-1 Roller Coaster
$10 Lunch Credit at Il Fornaio
25% off Spa Services
2 for $79 Zumanity
2 Spa Admissions
you be fine with either , but Luxor would be bottom choice ( not by much though) due to Location . however plenty of people stay there and have a great stay .
Toss up between the other 2 . we loved NYNY . smallish casino ( no huge walks ) and comfy rooms . Great vibe too .
, but MGM might shade it for you due to extras and NO resort fee .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -

I don't know if drink driving is considered a crime involving moral turpitude, though...according to this it isn't (but wikipedia isn't always accurate of course)...so just a drink driving conviction might not be a problem...but I agree that posting on the main forum ESTA thread is a good idea as some of those folks really know the ins and outs.

October , Novemberhave been reading reviews on trip advisor and the hotels we're looking at staying, palazzo or mgm grand, have quite a few people, mainly americans, complaining that there were quite a lot of thefts from rooms and even catching staff in the act. Has anyone had any issues with thefts from hotels by staff?ACHIEVING THE AIM SINCE.........0

Nope.
Looking at the Palazzo reviews - I'm pretty sure the two from Jan were in the same party - both from Canada, experiences almost identical.
Ultimately, there's a chance anywhere that staff will be up to no good, but somewhere like Vegas, where (relatively speaking) wages are decent for housekeepers and many people tip - I'd have to think that in general people aren't going to risk a much better job than they could get elsewhere. Also in general I think that the vetting process is going to be pretty strong for any casino employee. Will they weed out everyone who plans to get up to no good? No....but they will get most.
We've never had anything stolen and never bother with the room safe - cash and passports are hidden somewhere out of plain sight. But we normally have both of our PMPs, two cameras, netbook, mobile phones, etc. all laying around the room somewhere and nothing has ever happened to any of them. I had one day where I accidentally left $200 on a table in the room and it was there when we got back hours later.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
