another common(ish) question relates to car hire with / without sat nav... just a heads up on the following:
    http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/608467/tomtom-go-910-reburb-uk-europe-usa-

    TOMTOM POI's
I am correct in thinking someone on here has some U.S. POI's for TomTom by the way? I can't remember who so shout out and let me know! :) I'll try and get it sorted so they're downloadable from the first post (plus i wouldn't mind having them myself! :) )

Snapped one of these up a couple of weeks back. Sold my last TT910 before Xmas but realised how much I would miss sat nav in the US. It's in mint condition, looks like brand new to be honest.

I also thought about using it as a 'communal' MSE satnav, if a few people would be interested in some sort of sharing scheme - not exactly sure how it could work but thought it may be of interest, save everyone shelling out £100 or paying a fortune to rent one with their hire car.

If you want the Vegas POIs, send me a PM and I'll email the files to you.

The HOA fees for Signature have put me right off, You buy a studio apartment, and then they still want about $550 per month maintenance fees. Silly money IMHO.

A few people were wondering what would happen with their Planet Hollywood Players Club/Total Rewards cards now its merged with Harrahs, dont know if anyone found anything out but if you didnt there is a question and answers page on their Facebook page that might help...

That's great information - I'm so pleased the changeover is to take place by the day we arrive. And will be interesting to see if you can use Total Rewards credits at P.F. Changs - I tend to doubt it since like MAG they are not owned by HET, but maybe. :)

Does that pay for the maid/servicing etc?

HOA fees are, as far as I know, sort of like service charges if you rent an office - they go toward maintenance of the common parts of the whole property - nothing specific to your own unit, just those common things that all owners would (in theory) benefit from.

Being a bit thick here, but wanted to book one of the specials at flamingos. If i did would i have to pay the whole amount in one go or can i just pay the deposit.

Dont think that i will want to cancel, but you never know.

The other reply you got was a bit general to Vegas hotels rather than specific to the Flamingo (and other Harrah's hotels) I think so to go into specifics.....
The Friends and Family rate which is usually a really good rate is fully refundable up to 72 hours before arrivial but they do take the full cost at time of booking (although I get my own discount from my players card at Harrah's I find this rate often works out cheaper still-code can be found on Fatwallet). I've yet to see a non refundable offer at the Flamingo on any deal booked direct.

Other good rates I've had there have being first night deposit only though so there is no right answer -always check.
On the upside if you prepay the whole lot before arrival and don't want room charging then Harrah's don't take the standard $100/200 per night authorization off your card which for people like me who don't like to take creditcard cards to Vegas is a definite plus. I often call them a couple of days before I arrive and ask them to take off room cost & tax for the remaining nights so I don't get hit with the authorization and know exactly where I stand on funds in my account before I arrive.

Can I suggest you zip them up, and upload them here: http://www.mediafire.com

Once uploaded, you can then choose to 'share' them and it'll give you a URL.

If you can then come up of a bit of a description of what's there, and post it here with the link it could be perhaps be added to the first post by Tretts OR, a link to your post could be put in the first post (perhaps) :)

Failing that, i'll send you an email later :D - thanks tho!

can you use the TomTom POI files on a Garmin? I am somewhat stupid when it comes to satnav workings. :) If you can, I'd love to have them too...and think nvh's idea of uploading them somewhere they could be shared would be fab - but happy to send my email address if not.
