The coupon book for las vegas advisor must be out of print as I see one for sale in USA for $47 when it costs $37 direct  . A case of ebay "bargain" perhaps

Just a word of warning for anyone thinking of making a reservation at the Platinum Hotel - if you do decide to cancel, expect to wait a long time for your deposit to be refunded.

I cancelled our reservation 11 DAYS ago, still no money back....
ooh, we must've cancelled around the same time (I booked two blocks of dates with them whilst we were working out what hotels we'd stay in and when etc). Cancelled one of the sets of dates just over a week ago and nothing here either... (tho the MGM refund was almost instantaneous!)

I will let you know if i see anything arrive!

I'm sure that someone (ferf?) pointed out on their $99 offer, that they also 'hold' / 'block' money on your card once you've stayed there for up to 20 days too... (or something like that!) - they're clearly a bit of a strange bunch! :D

Does anyone have much luck with the $20 trick at the Flamingo?

I know they only have Deluxe and Go Rooms.

From reading online most people seem to get offered an upgrade to a Go room at $25 extra a night.

Worth trying to get a better Deluxe room, maybe with a Strip/ Pool view?

i think someone posted that the $20 won't get you a upgrade to a GO room . :(
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

Agree with pebbles - it's not out of print - I can't remember LVA ever running out - sometimes they sell the leftover ones for $10 in October or so - but they regularly sell on ebay for MORE than they cost buying direct...because apparently people don't look into these things. :)

I just wondered, for all you gambers, slots mainly, is anyone winning anything these days. I don't recall any decent wins in any trip reports lately.

Our last trip was dire - lost more than we've ever lost before...the trip before that was better, but only because of this...

We got spoiled by several trips in a row where we only used 50% of our budget over the trip - which while not a win, was good enough for us. It's been in the 70%s for the last few trips and last trip was in the 80%s.

  • We've booked up for this year! I cannot wait! Going to New York (ive never been - hubby has been 5 times) for 5 days on Sep 2nd, and then onto Vegas for 8. Opted for the Flamingo, and I'll probably pay the $25 to upgrade to a Go Room when we get there, im not too fussed really, id sleep anywhere in Vegas :rotfl:

Busy saving my pennies and creating an holiday plan - think Vegas will be sunbathing through the day - early evening a bit of shopping and sites and then  at night.

    Very excited :T
