Saw them three years ago, and even then, they looked totally bored by the whole thing. Didnt help that the theatre was less than half full.

Now if you want to see a show or two........Jersey Boys and KA. End of.

Jersey Boys definitely, seen it three times, brilliant!!!

You know we were discussing either to opt for the Encore or Platinum at about $150 cheaper. Well the Platinum wins. Encore is a cracking place and if anyone was to tell me that one day I would be passing up a fantastic deal with them I would say they were mad, but after discussion we can't pass up The Platinum. Just too many pluses, quiet non smoking suites with full balcony and furniture, just right for enjoying breakfast of OJ and muffins that can be kept in the FULL SIZE FRIDGE. Free WiFi, Gym, bottle of wine, the feeling of personal service where the doormen know your name, full kitchen so that we don't have to eat out all the time. If we are lucky we might even get a suite with a washing machine. Really nice pool with attendants and all of the posh double beds are for everyone's use. All the free extras that would mount up at Encore (example fridge $25 a day). The only downside is having to get in the car every night to go out, but we would be doing that anyway cause Tracy likes PlanetHo and I like Bellagio and Paris, and Encore has the best pool we have been to.
The place isn't for everyone, if it's your first time or near enough I would say stay on the Strip, but it isn't about that for us anymore, it's about getting the nicest room we can for our dollar, and you would be very hard pressed to beat the Platinum for that, AFAIK only The Signatue comes close.
nice one! :D you've convinced me! we're giving it a go (just for a couple of nights!) :)

i want to do some re-adjusting of other hotels i've booked, but that's dependant on whether the "MGM" Offer i currently have rears it's head again, so with all that in mind.... have you any idea when the Platinum offer finishes?

I have Vegas booked for the 2nd week in March, flying PE (Virgin) from Gatwick using my Points and staying in Planet Hollywood, anyone got any must see tips etc.. Booked for Penn and Teller, but anything else!

2nd week in March, as in you'll be on your way home by the 16th? That may be good as March Madness starts on the 16th.

Unlike the others we really loved P&T. It's not really like their TV show though - so if that's what you're expecting you'll be disappointed...and yeah, Penn does tend to ramble on quite a bit and if you disagree with his politics (or disagree with any politics in a show like that) it can be annoying.

We were actually talking last night about maybe going to see them again in April...there's an offer for $45 tickets at the moment so we're tempted.

It's on page 1 of this thread too. I use the call buster thing when I call the USA, so it's 0.5p per minute. OH said we might get free calls with Sky but I''ve never bothered to check - not exactly money saving of me.... lol

Depends which call package you have with Sky-if it's the free calls in the UK evenings and weekends (Everyday ) then US isn't free-if you have the unlimited UK calls package (called Unlimited on your bill-lol) then it's free calls to US and Canada (landline and mobile) .

It's the hang up after an hour and redial thing and also covers quite a few other countries. I'm waiting for show tickets to go on-sale at the moment and it's great to be able to keep calling to check -works great for rebooking hotels too. The money I've saved adjusting rates more than pays for the deal.

Well they say that the offer was only good up till March, but we booked for May and others have said that they were able to book the $99 room in September! But saying that, we booked and paid the 1 night deposit just to hold the room as I thought that the offer was too good to be true and it would quickly get oversubscribed. I personally wouldn't chance leaving it myself, $99 on a weekend?? You will pay more than that at the clown and the Trop.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Harrah's seem to be comping quite aggresively at the moment-although the comps don't always show up til the final screen. I was going to spend 2 nights at the Flamingo in March and then move for the 3rd night and accidently put in the Sunday night too-and it popped up comped-same in July I have a deluxe room comped for the week nights and reduced to $50 for the Friday and Saturday.

Seems to apply at quite a low comp level for Flamingo, IP and Rio (I didn't check Harrah's or Ballys) -well worth plugging in the dates with your Total Rewards card.

I agree it's really worth checking - and normally if you put in your dates for your chosen hotel if you scroll down it will show you rates for the other hotels for the same period...it's worth clicking through each one to see what sort of comps might be there as it's sometimes hard to tell without going into each property - sometimes the non-comped nights seem to come up more expensive than going through hot deals or something, so sometimes you can shuffle your comped dates to the beginning or end of a trip and then book the balance for less through another source.
