Downtown isn't for everyone. ....If money is the sole purpose then DT is the place to go.

We're the same - no real interest in staying downtown and like Froggitt said, it's an area we don't feel too comfortable with outside of the canopy area. But Fitzgerald's gets decent enough reviews.

One day I would like to have one night downtown - probably at the GN...just to try it out - but I really don't think it would be our thing...it would just be an experiment. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We didn't like Fitzgerald's AT ALL! I just wasn't happy there. (And we don't mind the IP, as a comparison.)

On the other hand, we did a couple of nights at the Golden Nugget last June, and we would be happy to stay there again. It's the best hotel downtown by far IMHO. If you're staying downtown, go for the GN, and it will be much better.

Grr...Had MGM Grand booked end of August 6 nights - 2 rooms (2 and a 3), however somebody else has come onboard so I just cancelled the old deal and instead opted for the Crazy 8's (better deal). Now, same time, 3 rooms (2/2/2), however my Visa Debit card keeps getting declined (don't own a CC). Now I booked the previous two rooms fine with the same card, but it won't let me book these three rooms?!?!

I'm guessing I am going to have to ring the MGM:

    General Phone Number for Reservations
    877-880-0880 or 702-891-7777

But how much will this cost from a BT Landline? I'm guessing around £48 a minute... :(

Sorry, I just imagined you guys would be more clued up on ringing the Casino and know the general ins and outs of ringing a Hotel abroad. Anyway it was a stupid fraud situation, MGM lady was brilliant and very helpful (unlike there email system) and everything is now back on track! Thanks.

It's on page 1 of this thread too. I use the call buster thing when I call the USA, so it's 0.5p per minute. OH said we might get free calls with Sky but I''ve never bothered to check - not exactly money saving of me.... lol

oh my - shame about the problems with using a driver's licence as ID...not sure I want to take my passport to clubs and also it's a bit bulky :-(
Staying at Hard Rock and going to wasted space the first night, so I guess I can give it a go and I'll only need to pop back up stairs to fetch it if there's a problem.
More feedback on this before March would be appreciated!!
    Thanks!

Yeah, my tip, don't see Penn and Teller:rotfl: I can tell you how the box trick at the beginning of the show works, and they only do about 6-7 tricks during the whole show, Penn just rabbits on and on about stuff, not nearly as good as I thought they would be. But if you do go take your camera because they come out to the foyer at the end and sign autographs.
Apart from that read the first post on this thread
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Saw them three years ago, and even then, they looked totally bored by the whole thing. Didnt help that the theatre was less than half full.

Now if you want to see a show or two........Jersey Boys and KA. End of.
