Ghost bar is pretty cool and free to get in before 9pm I think. Voodoo lounge is better though

Voodoo lounge has a great view and is free with passes that are readily handed out on/off strip. It's an older crowd, definitely more of a lounge than a club. But worth heading up to see the view :)

Can anyone suggest a hotel near the Luxor that would be cheap on Saturday night? My obvious choice is Excalibur but that's coming up more expensive.
How cheap do you want? What saturday night? and does it have to be near the Luxor?

My fav for a cheap weekend night is the Orleans

ID in the casino's changed last week, UK driving licences are not proof of ID, you must have your passport, quite a few people being turned away in Bellagio last night- issue is they are finding it so difficult with all the different licences to know what it a fake, so standardization across the strip was brought in.

    Last week as quiet

This week slightly busier couple of bigger conventions in town
World of Concrete - yes everyone is walking around in hardhats
World of Shoes, speaks for itself
    World Market - Furniture!

Anyone heard about the new buses starting in March for the strip the ACE's to replace some of the Deuces, bigger extender buses, they will be having an introduction like the deuces a couple of days free but don't know dates yet

Ok, I confess, I'm still in my 20's (but only for a few months more)!
I'm a little sad that we're not going to stay at Bally's this trip, as it's for our honeymoon and we really feel at home here. At the minute, my bookings are Bellagio (with a lakeview room) and Palazzo, although these might change. I hope I'm not disappointed about Bellagio as it gets some very mixed reviews. I know not to expect the sheen of the Venetian, and I can always walk across the road to gamble at limits I can afford :rotfl:

    I meant to put 3 20something blokes. :)

The Bellagio lakeview room is stunning for the view - if it was a standard Bellagio room I think it would be a bit meh...but the lakeview is really amazing.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I have successfully used a photocopy of my passport as photo ID for using a credit card, cashing travellers cheques, picking up show tickets, etc.

It has only been refused twice in 10 trips to Vegas and that was at Caesars check-in and the Sahara player's club..

Silverton would not accept a copy of my husband's passport, but would take my photocard driving licence to sign up for the slot club.

At Bally's I've been turned away at the Total Rewards booth with a driving licence only - had to go back to the room to get my passport.

I just had my passport renewed and the US now offer a passport card for an additional $20 when renewing- no good for international travel but good for travel within the US and possibly Canda and Mexico...I'm pleased with this as it means I can leave my 'real' passport in the hotel. Wish the UK had something similar as my husband doesn't drive so his only photo ID is his passport and I hate hauling it around. :)

has anyone any tips on making sure the cocktail waitresses keep coming to us as we are only low rollers. are the tables better or the slots??

This is a great resource for all things cocktail-waitress oriented...it gives you some good insight into what goes into their job (things you would not have thought of) plus I think she's really funny. :)

OK, you asked for it, MOTEL 6 Don't forget the $20 trick, they will take the dead crack wh0re out from under your bed for that. Right on the corner of the MGM next to Hooters
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

There was the UK ID cards, which weren't widely supported, and due to the costs of producing them, it's been shelved for now.....
