OH Buffy - I just want to come and hug you!

What a tough time you are going through. I know you are annoyed with the way things are with your life - and some of the decisions that you have made may make life feel harder in these really tough periods. But just remember how far you have come:
    • That debt is whittling away. As we all know, our debt took a long time to grow and will take a while to disappear. But disappear it will.
    • Your CC debt is gone! Now that's something to be proud of.
    • Work is yuck - it has been for a long time. But from where I sit - the ones who really matter to you - the kids - know that you are brilliant (as we all do). I live with a primary School teacher and I cannot believe the stuff teachers have to deal with. I admire you for doing the job you do and for continuing to do it. Even though you feel that you don't have a choice because of the debt, you have stuck with it through everything. I know you want to leave and it will happen.
    • All the extra efforts that you have been taking to get yourself debt-free are all investments in you.
    • Sometimes - when you have a goal, you have to be blinkered and let the other stuff go. Yes your life is not where you want it to be, but you are getting there. If you ask your friends, you may well find that they are not as happy as you think.
Buffy, you are a wonderful person who gives so much to everyone on this site, to the kids that you teach, to your family and friends. Just think that when you are debt free and there are choices that you can make for yourself without that millstone, you will have come a long way and grown as a person to be able to make the right choices for you.

The dream - to me it shows that you will alway get to the top. It may be hard - and you may have to take the hard route to get there; and others may stand by and watch rather than help; but you will get there.

NOw, is it sunny there? How about 20 mins in the sun for some fresh air?

The bit in bold is exactly what I mean, I have no new news to share, I am not getting a house (:rotfl:the idea is so funny its ridiculous) or a boyfriend :rotfl::rotfl:) I do exactly the same thing all the time, EXACTLY. You could erase the last 3 years (please?) and I probably wouldn't notice.

I'm the same. Friends go 'What's new with you?' And I go 'Erm...' and feel like saying 'well my house is still a sh1thole, I'm still in the same sh1tty job going nowhere, I still don't have a boyfriend and I'm still skint'. I could probably erase the last 5 years as well and still be in the same position. I do have more savings now for the house though and you have less debt. We're getting there, just take it day by day, making baby steps. I hope that one day those baby steps will gain momentum into giant leaps :A

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending
  • The sun is shining, I have successfully moved the furniture round in the living room to accomadate the new tv, this was done as a joint effort - with Mum and we didn't argue once go us! am well pleased, was so worried we'd end up shouting at each other we are far too alike. Must do things our own way and are of course equally stubborn.

I am now tackling my room. smells AWFUL due to Guinea Pigs - any tips Wol? if you are reading, they is proper stinky. I am moving furntiure here too. need the change NOW.

And then it will be paper work this afternoon. plus marking.

Oh God there aren't enough hours in the day!

    Baby steps right girls?

baby steps indeed......and because they are often small steps, we feel as though they won't make a difference, and it is easy to think we are getting nowhere. But even the tiniest of steps all add up, and we end up a lot further forward than we give ourselves credit for.

Spring is here - a fab season to start looking forward :)

So front room done, my room done(!) guinea pigs are sorted. my desk is clear. I need to do my steps and then have some tea and get ready for tomorrow.

Must change my sheets tomorrow and hope the hot water works for the fish.

So today I have done a lot of tidying, also messaged egg about closing a savings account, and updated my profile on ok cupid. I will never get a date sitting at home with the Guinea pigs!!
