Is the iPhone really worth it or does the novelty wear off?

  • I love my iphone, but it is very expensive because they give you loads of free minutes but not loads of texts, and for some reason I have a busier social life since getting my iphone (??? I cant explain that!).

The only downside is the poor camera quality, dont expect any good pics once the sun goes down.

Am considering buying the Iphone but is there any other phones that I can upload music from a PC to and then play that music from a dock? Also, if so, can they also access email easily?

pah, I spit on the Iphone.

A 2nd rate phone that was running on a 2nd rate network (until it was opened up) and a price tag to make your eyes water.
There's loads of better phones out there.
  • You wont regret getting one. I have a 32gb 3GS, and a Blackberry 9700...No phone is perfect, but between the two I have everything I want in a phone.

iPhone great fun, and the apps are great, always something new to play with.

If you want to go back 5yrs, go Nokia, same old same old....

  • its simply awesome - wouldnt be able to live without it. i love it, love it, love it

  • And if you read ZDNet, then you'll see they fixed it with the latest update - sigh:rolleyes:

I was also totally anti Apple and all my Music players etc were Creatives as well

I was a dedicated Sony Ericsson fan until I got the Nokia N95 - Aargh - what had I done!!!!!! No end of problems and then I played with my BF's IPhone...

Roll on the release date for Orange and I was first in the queue. I got a 16Gb 3GS for £44 a month (phone free)

I love it as it is so different - the camera isn't so great but with apps such as Camera Pro, and Photoshop, you can get some really good results.

I've also uploaded Kindle for Iphone(free) and started buying heaps of books from the Amazon.com Kindle store - such a fan of this that I'm considering buying a Kindle as well now:rotfl::rotfl:. The best bit is being able to read in bed with the light off and then it !!!!!! off after 4 minutes so if I fall asleep I don't need to worry about riunning the batter down and it's lighter than a book! Books are uploaded within seconds onto the Iphone with a wifi connection - haven't tried over the Orange 3G yet.

I hardly ever buy an app unless I love the free version so much that I really want the extras - I tend to let the kids use their ITunes vouchers to buy for their Touchs and then nick them off the pc;)

I'm desperately trying to think of any bad points or issues to try and stay balanced, but the only one I can really think of is not being able to keep apps open when switching between functions -like if you're in the middle of a game of TapTap and the phone rings - it ends your game rather than pausing it till you've finished, which is a PITA!

Battery life is a bit sh£te as you HAVE to charge it up every day, but then I'm on pc most days so I just plug it into usb to charge whilst working, or in the kitchen if I'm reading

LOL, sorry I couldn't help myself! I love my iphone too. I catch up on mooloo's thread and some of the other ones I like to read on it. Apps are great and quick to download. Touch wood, not had a problem yet.
  • The iPhone hits a sweet spot for being able to do an aweful lot, but to also be easy to use.

You can get more basic phones, and you can get more complicated ones but most people will find an iPhone to be just about right, most people i know now have one, i'm on my third.

I wanted one when I was told about them a few years ago in the apple store, before they came out. I purchased an ipod touch in the end, 16gb when they just came out for under £300. I never use this so know I wouldnt use an iphone. I find the touch hard to type and slow on the net.

You've all got me looking at the HTC phones now! Is the Tattoo or the Magic any good or does it have to be the Hero?
