I've had an iPhone since they first came out, as I worked for o2 at the time.

When it was eventually 'done in' - after being dropped, dropped and kicked by accident, spilt water on etc etc - after 2 years, I went straight to o2 and got myself a nice shiny new one.

I'm not saying it's faultless, no phone is, but the pro's well outweigh the con's for me.

Also, I've had BlackBerry's as well, and there's just something about them I cannot get on with. Best going into a shop and having a shot of them to see what YOU like best.

Yikes, just googled it as not had it happen to me. Just hope I haven`t jinxed my phone!
  • I love my iPhone :D Nowt more to say really!
  • I love my iphone .. the best thing in the world (apart from children), i used to be an ericsson devote, but got soo tired of the "red light syndromes".

My BIL who works in the 'mobile industry' was sceptical about it, but now loves mine so much that he is truly gutted to be locked into an 18 month contract with his Nokia handset, and keeps asking me to swap contracts

I have had no problems with my iphone. My 3 yr old loves it and "her" apps keep her quiet for ages :rotfl:

It's personal preference, but i love mine

And if you read ZDNet, then you'll see they fixed it with the latest update - sigh:rolleyes:

I was also totally anti Apple and all my Music players etc were Creatives as well

I was a dedicated Sony Ericsson fan until I got the Nokia N95 - Aargh - what had I done!!!!!! No end of problems and then I played with my BF's IPhone...

Roll on the release date for Orange and I was first in the queue. I got a 16Gb 3GS for £44 a month (phone free)

I love it as it is so different - the camera isn't so great but with apps such as Camera Pro, and Photoshop, you can get some really good results.

I've also uploaded Kindle for Iphone(free) and started buying heaps of books from the Amazon.com Kindle store - such a fan of this that I'm considering buying a Kindle as well now:rotfl::rotfl:. The best bit is being able to read in bed with the light off and then it !!!!!! off after 4 minutes so if I fall asleep I don't need to worry about riunning the batter down and it's lighter than a book! Books are uploaded within seconds onto the Iphone with a wifi connection - haven't tried over the Orange 3G yet.

I hardly ever buy an app unless I love the free version so much that I really want the extras - I tend to let the kids use their ITunes vouchers to buy for their Touchs and then nick them off the pc;)

I'm desperately trying to think of any bad points or issues to try and stay balanced, but the only one I can really think of is not being able to keep apps open when switching between functions -like if you're in the middle of a game of TapTap and the phone rings - it ends your game rather than pausing it till you've finished, which is a PITA!

Battery life is a bit sh£te as you HAVE to charge it up every day, but then I'm on pc most days so I just plug it into usb to charge whilst working, or in the kitchen if I'm reading

  • I VOTE FOR HTC HERO, reasonable price and the good thing i like in it is multi task which you will not find in IPhone unless if you jail break etc.

Two friends have iphone3g & 3gs and not good sound quality as compared with hero..

I had a N95 and it was a nice phone I then upgraded to a N96 it was the biggest piece of !!!!!! that Nokia had ever produced and I have used Nokia phones since I joined Orange over 15 years ago. I sold the N96 on Mazooma and bought a Blackberry 8310 off Fleabay, when my contract is up for renewal I will go for an IPhone if I can get a decent deal.

I absolutely love my iPhone, don't go anywhere without it, wouldn't have anything else.

    Huh? :)

Given the speed mobile technology moves, 3 years is a pretty long 'fad'!

Hey, it's not my fault people can't research whats available rather than just be brain washed by marketing.

My S60v2 Nokia back in 2006 had most of the apps the iPhone has, but it didn't have the slogan 'app for that' nor a television commercial and cult following from another previously, heavily marketed device.

£900 over 18 months is ludicris for a phone that isn't even on par with most older devices (camera sucks, bluetooth doesn't even have proper functionality, unable to multi task)

If you're wanting the functionality without the expense - consider the HTC Hero (T-Mobile G2 Touch)

It's available with 300 mins, unlimited text and unlimited internet on T-Mobile from buymobilephones.net for £20 per month. The phone is £19.99 upfront but you can get £20 back via Quidco.
I can't find this deal ... thought it seemed too good to be true!
