Hypno, have you tried your own downloads or do they not work for you?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I don't like the sound of my own voice, gallygirl.......although I am sure plenty would disagree with that and say I love the sound of my own voice
:rotfl:
I do use some of the techniques though - and they help me get off to sleep when I first go to bed......but when I wake in the night, it seems that nothing will get me back to sleep until my brain decides the time is right, a couple of hours later!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. hey hypno, sorry about your sleep patterns being skewif, I used to do that constantly, waking up at 3 and falling asleep at 5 only to have the alarm go off at 6, it was always when I had too much on my mind.
Copious amounts of alcohol helped, although the groggy mornings weren't worth it  A long hot bath helped if I could stay in it long enough to relax and not get bored, that's all the advice I can give I'm afraid.
You have my sympathy hun. (hugs)
And Macgirl hypno will start running soon, she has to shes my motivation to start!!!0 -
hi hon, sympathies with the sleep issue. I am exactly the same, seems to be exactly the same time every night too. I share your frustration, people have endless methods to get to sleep but sadly nowt can prevent us waking up again!!!
bad news on the run, runclub went out on the ice and snow the other day, have to say though that I wouldn't fancy it again so you really are best off waiting! it'll come soon enough. xxxdebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -

No point in chancing running while it's still so slippy out Hypno - you'd curse if you did and ended up going A over T and damaging yourself. That's really carp about the sleep thing - thankfully I usually drop off quickly and stay asleep but I do sometimes get patches when my sleep gets disturbed and it's so horrible. You really do have my sympathy.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I'm just wondering if anything physical is triggering you to wake up? Do you wake for the loo or maybe feeling cold?
I know that I would wake up for the loo at almost the same time every night and struggled to get back to sleep, mind jumping straight back into action the second my eyes open. I stopped drinking anything past 9pm and this seemed to help.
Just a thought. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -
If I can't sleep for longer than 30 minutes to 1 hour I will get back up and start doing jobs around the house, surf mse or just try and get some kip on the couch. Sometimes just changing the routine helps....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I use specific scenarios to get back to sleep.
Could be a fantasy situation or a memory of a good place/time. It doesn't work if I get too involved in the storyline though so I try to stick to tried and tested (therefore boring?) situations which seem to work best.
The worst time for not being able to sleep was in my early forties when I would wake and re-evaluate my life. Perhaps it was my mid life crisis? So nothing helpful to offer but perhaps not to worry as that would make it worse.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420
