Ooh yes, a rare treat would be better, at that price - I know you don't need this, but just think of Martin's little demotivator thingy - what could £12 a month do! But anyway - woman, just like man, needs a few treats, even if she doesn't live on them. I haven't had chocolate since before Christmas, and I'm doing a bit of work in London today (being chauffeured there and back) so I'm rewarding myself with some chocolate from Sainsbo's.:D

I have put my order in for my bacon buttie......so no NSD for me today, but I am doing well, with 9 under my belt so far this month (9 NSDs that is, not 9 bacon butties, which probably wouldn't even fit under my belt it is so tight already!).

  • Hi Hypno, sorry to read about your lack of sleep, when I wake up I'm usually worrying over something or making lists in my head! Not welcome at 3am! So I once read when you have intrusive thoughts just repeat the word 'the' over and over - it doesnt mean anything and stops you thinking about anything else -worth a try? either that or lots of gin :) which doesn't help with work the next day lol!
Hope it improves for you soon cgx

P, I hope you have a good time, and that it is not too traumatic for you!!

Well, another week done and dusted.....today has been one of those "challenging" days we all know and love  Don't get me wrong, I love my job and the people I work with, big time, but sometimes the combination of challenging job, challenging people and lack of sleep results in some :wall::wall::wall:

Anyway, I am glad that it is Friday evening, and I can collapse! Apart from my bacon buttie (£2.70) I have not spent any money today, so not too bad......tomorrow I have to take DD to Hemel Hempstead for a training weekend, so will have the travelodge and other sundry costs......that comes out of the ski budget so doesn't affect my meagre remaining shopping budget, but it certainly won't be a NSD either day....

I hope you have all had a good day!

hi hypno - has decluttering your bedroom helped? Do you have a sleep routine? I need up to an hour pottering round before I go to bed for me to sleep? have you banished computers and tvs from your bedroom? have you made your bedroom a restful place to be? is your bed comfortable? Do you need a new bed / pillows / quilt (or even separate quilt)? Are you too warm or too cold? Obviously no need to answer those questions on here but think about them anyway....

SH, I really really don't know what the answer is to the sleep thing - I've never had a telly or taken the laptop in my bedroom, not too hot, nor too cold, got an excellent adjustable bed which is incredibly comfortable, not suffering any neck/shoulder pain at the moment, not waking up for the loo, no noisy dogs barking outside, don't feel thirsty when I wake, etc etc etc......I think I just have to stop moaning about it, accept that it is part of me and the way I am, and get on with it :o

With kids they sometimes reckon they can literally be over-tired to the point of not sleeping. I know with your schedule it would be hard to do but could you try a short cat-nap at some point during your day or early evening - perhaps that would help?

I'm quite lucky in one sense - I am on medication for something - for which a side effect is that it can make you drowsy - so I take it about 20-30 minutes before I go to bed and it works a treat!
