First "cull" of the hanging stuff in the wardrobe is done......it's quite liberating really! The charity shop pile is ever bigger, as is the pile of empty coat hangers.

I have been quite ruthless - there is no point in keeping stuff that I have no hope of ever getting into again (losing one dress size is always a possibility, but two or three is really less likely, and if I do happen to ever be thin again, I can reward myself with a shopping spree), and things that I have had in my wardrobe for several years because there is "nothing wrong with them".....well, nothing wrong with them except I no longer like them or am just a bit bored with them, or feel uber frumpy when I wear them........so onto the charity pile they have gone!

Am going to have a coffee and some lunch, while I watch the Winter Olympic update - then back up to the wardrobe.......I will get it all done today and then will feel very much as though I have achieved something.

Nothing like a good clear out to lift the spirits! And I am sure you will find ways of restocking your wardrobe from charity shops, particularly the ones that do the vintage/designer stuff.

That sounds great, to be honest! And I had to laugh again at your finale to the bed discussion, *lots* of images of DS complaining about his wonderful mother.... never mind, you *know* thats your job, don't you? To be a parent is to be in the wrong :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well said KC - that last bit has been my mantra for many a year! And yet, whatever we do to our kids, they usually manage to survive and grow into quite nice people.

I don't know, FAB, there are some very nice parts of Norfolk! I agree that sometimes you can go in a charity shop and find nothing more than a 42DD bra in a delicate shade of murky grey, whilst your mate finds a designer original for just a few quid - so unfair! Maybe all the best charity shops are in London - methinks a day out to the metropolis is called for!

  • lol! Glad Hypno its not just me who doesnt find much, Mind you they are good for kids videos and dvds etc as it bugs me no end to find all dvds without there cases in the bedroom!!

I would love a trip to London,,, maybe we should have a norfolk DFW's london charity rummage when we have paid a bit more off our totals?

There are some fabulous charity shops around here (in the south)! Very posh cast offs in Henley and Windsor - such a shame you have to be a size 8 to fit into the nearly new designer duds that are discarded!:rotfl:I have a feeling they were cast off because they didn't fit the original owners either!

Yes, I guess that buying things to slim into knows no class boundaries

I've just gone through the sock pile - managed to pair up a squillion socks with their mates, and have a whole lot more to go in the bin. I will be clear and organised - I will be clear and organised - I will be clear and organised :D

Isn't it weird how cluttered we let the place get, but we all love having a clearout? What *is* that about? :)
