"My bank are morons led by numbnutz" is explanation enough.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:I've called Halifax who have admitted they should have told me that they would be stopping the cheques previously written, to give me a chance to contact people with cheques outstanding and to arrange replacements without embarressment.
They also confirmed there is no charge, which is something.
And the nice lady on the end of the phone got the full crying dumped wife scenario.......I felt quite sorry for her
Good for you & thank god they have a modicum of sense sometimes... *rolls eyes*

Good productive weekend and glad that Halifax have sorted it for you.0

Why couldn't they simply have asked for a list of uncleared cheques? You could have signed to say you wanted them cleared normally, or is that just what a logical person/organisation would do!!!!! The bank obviously don't understand that not everyone has contact details for people who end up with their cheques.
Hope you've not got too many uncleared cheques outstanding Hypno, you don't need this extra work and trouble at this time.0 -
Sounds like the bank lady got the full force of the venom you've been holding back, hope she understood it wasn't personal!
I'm impressed by the decorating blitz and the running and the yoga plans - but it would be a good idea to sit down on the floor one night when the kids are away and have a good old howling session, clear out all that anger, frustration, sadness and grief, better and cheaper than colonic irrigation any day.....

:T for ZTDs words
I'm glad the bank appear to have sorted this out, though I don't underestimate the rage you must have felt. I'm rather pleased some of this was let out on your phone call, since it's "better out than in" (though like you say, poor woman at the end of the line)
You must be utterly exhausted, though I hope relieved that it's sorted as best it can be for now.0 -

I did apologise to her for picking up the phone to an emotional wreck, and made it clear it wasn't personal to her.
se.....banks don't do logical. I could understand if it was a cheque OH had signed, or was even written after the date we asked for the change, but it was neither.
I have one other cheque outstanding for a maths study day for DD but I can sort that one out as I know it hasn't been presented by the school yet.
It was just a trigger for the tears that I've been holding back, I suppose......and I expect there'll be a few more days like that to comeSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Yes, I pretty much feel as though I have been hit by a truck these last few weeks...Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Tears are normal Hypno, having to explain to a stranger on the phone about what's happened, when he's probably irate after getting a bounced cheque must have been really tough.
Try and relax, you're going through readjusting all your hopes & dreams, aswell as the practicalities, it's going to take a while. :grouphug:0
