Hypno's "me, me, me, me, me," diary.....

Well, really it's just a cunning ploy to make sure Hypno does it.
(I laid the trap for running and in she fell! Shhhhh)
Yoga for me will be at a class. A friend wants to go and although it's £5 a week, I'm going to go, as it's brill for stress relief and will tone me up a bit.
If you are interested Pickle, I'd try the DVD Hypno recommended. I just know what I'm like in my own house, I won't stick with it......
It's not really an option at my place at the minute, but something definitely worth keeping in mind for a later date.
(And tee hee at the Hypno plan!)
Please call me 'Pickle'

My very positive day has turned out
Just had a phone call from the leader of the ski training the kids are going to on Saturday. When I took DD away to train a few weeks ago, I paid by cheque for a couple of bits of ski stuff.....
.....the next day, OH dropped his bombshell, and since then the joint account has been made into a sole account, with my new cheque book arriving only yesterday.
But the Halifax have, in their infinite wisdom, decided to bounce the cheque I gave for the ski stuff.....even though it was dated long before the request to change the account, and it has MY signature on it, not OH!
So, I have had to apologise with a lot of:o:o as you do with a bounced cheque, give the excuse "oh my husband left me and his name is no longer on the account" in the hope they don't just assume that I have no money (am very good on that front nowadays!) and now I have to wait to see if I get any sort of charge for the returned cheque.
Needless to say, I am not a happy hypno now on a Sunday evening
In fact I want to cryThis whole bloody situation is crap. Just crap

Oh Hypno, I'm sorry, that's just pants!
How about a pre-emptive strike to the Halifax to complain about them putting you in this situation unnessecarily & without justification?

You're dealing with a bank. They make wuckfit seem like an aspiration, not a criticism. Mine cancelled my transactions because I had the audacity to spend some money. Forty quid on a mobile - I am the last of the big spenders...
You can't do anything about it tonight, so don't dwell on it. Get on the phone to them tomorrow and find out what the hell they're playing at.
You don't need to make excuses about the cheque - you have the money. "My bank are morons led by numbnutz" is explanation enough."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Overall it's been a very productive weekend for you Hypno, so don't less this sheer incompetence of a bank ruin it.
Definitely worth exploding at them Hypno. Worth trying to claim for inconvenience aswell as what they put you through at such at time. Surely they could have contacted you before doing this as they knew the circumstances.
There is no limit to the stupidity and thoughtlessness of banks.
It was years ago, but when I married OH we changed my account into a joint a/c, the bank kindly decided without notice to suspend my account until after the wedding, as it was for us as a married couple and no longer valid for me alone, of course my money was inaccessible in it!!!! Not what you want when you're making last minute arrangements.0 -
I've called Halifax who have admitted they should have told me that they would be stopping the cheques previously written, to give me a chance to contact people with cheques outstanding and to arrange replacements without embarressment.
They also confirmed there is no charge, which is something.
And the nice lady on the end of the phone got the full crying dumped wife scenario.......I felt quite sorry for herSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
