Morning (just) everyone :) I thought I'd say hello as I'm migrating my way into OS from DFW threads. My OH and I are quite conscious of minimising waste, good recyclers etc, so I hope I will fit in here. My big challenge is to reduce food waste. As he has diabetes I'm conscious of the need to cook low GI so can't make some use up foods - he finds soup makes his sugars high for example.

I've managed to find a bottle with just enough white vinegar that I could put a load on to wash. It does unfortunately mean I need to go buy more soon, so will have to go to the shops today or tomorrow. I've found Asda bottles cheapest - does anyone have any better places to buy it?

    Hello and welcome Katsu:hello:
Nice to see you back Haribo:hello:. I also wondered where you had disappeared off to!

Just back from the Lu$h sale. Spend £20 and receive a £20 goodie bag. Instead of that you could also have either a gift pack worth £12-£15 (you choose which one) or a perfume - vanilla maybe? Anyway, being the big baby I am and having no major gifts to buy, I opted for the goodie bag. I'm having a cup of tea and prolonging the excitement of opening it:j. I don't shop much for smellies, so this was a real treat. I've also got enough toiletries now to last a while, and also to bring to our new home whenever that is.

Redruby - yes, I also had nightmares about the van etc but it will pass! All will be well on the day:D.

Off to make toast and pate for lunch. Dog walking and soup making this afternoon.

    Take care all
    W

ps - NPM glad to hear that Noah is back to his usual self:). I really felt for you when you said he was so quiet yesterday.

    Hmm about to go into town for some shopping - yuck, but need some pears to bottle in mulled wine, and have some clemetines (woopsie 29p in Co-op) to bottle in juniper syrup when I get back. Lovely day yesterday as managed to make;
Ginger Marmalade; Roasted red pepper soup, Mincemeat and butter ( slightly made too much butter but it was woopsie cream so well worth it)
Weather not good enough for WM to be on - its sheets etc which I prefer to dry on the line.
Oh and what would be the best way of posting a hamper?

    afternoon!

I've finally defrosted myself after the milkround! saw a bit of snow but it was quite slushy and I got wet feet! I'm sitting with my 2 wheat bags - one round my neck and my feet on the other.

Need to have a bit of a tidy up later, WM is on and ironing all done. Mum is on the way home from Cornwall by train so I'll pop round to see her later. Also got slimming world weigh-in tonight:eek: not looking forward to that after my recent excesses:D

Haribo - nice to have you back :j- hope you get your internet fixed asap!

off for a quick surf, TTFN x
    Do what you love :happyhear

    Hi everyone,

Katsu if you have a Chinese grocery near you it's worth investigating the cost of their white vinegar. They often have larger quantities cheaper than the supermarket.

Back to work today, but it's very quiet. I'm planning to use the very small piece of leftover ham with veggies and a tin of tomatoes over rice for dinner. I made a huge pan of scouse yesterday but DH put it out and divided it between the three of us - I'm sure I could have got one, if not two more meals fom it, especially as DS and I couldn't finish our portions!

I began to tidy the spare room which is clutterred with DD's possessions but my back keeps aching when I am standing or walking so I am having to spell myself.

HJ - good to see you back. Ppin I hope the hospital visit goes well. Diva I hope the hip is better and that Tristan is keeping as well as possible.
