Beware on Ryanair!

There has been the odd occasion when a flight was cancelled and people were left to find their own way home, at a much greater cost than their refund.
No more than I do with BA, AF, Easyjet etc.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Nope.
Just a realisation that Ryanair exist for one reason and one reason only - and it isn't to do me any favours.
That doesn't mean that they can't be any god for me however.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Moral of the story:
Break the rules: bad experience
Play by the rules: good experience
It is surely the equivalent of someone being flashed at 0.1mph over the speed limit and getting fined £60. Apparently it only costs the police £1.50 to process that payment as well.0 -

I'd say that the rules on hand luggage and the attitude of the staff member who chose to enforce them on our outward journey could be described in exactly the same way.
If you think that following the rules set down by your employer is "childish and puerile", then I wouldn't want you working for me! They didn't 'choose' to enforce them - it's their job to enforce them.Just as charging £40 for using a debit card for a family when it does in fact cost about £1.50 is dishonest and stupid, so is charging £40 for printing a boarding pass or forcing customers to repack their bags or pay £35 so they've only got one.
Dishonest and stupid? No, it's extremely sensible. If you don't like it - I'm sure there are plenty of full price carriers out there willing to take your money to pay spoilt, overpaid cabin crew. Anyway, what's 'stupid' about an airline that's making a profit?I think the staff on the return flight realised pedantic enforcement of the rules in an attempt to get more money for RA would only serve to alienate the customers who, after all, are the lifeblood of the airline.
The staff probably haven't realised yet that O'Leary will soon start to demand that *all* airports follow his wishes or face trouble.
Unfortunately, 'consumer revenge' often dictates that the customer demands it their way - even when they agreed otherwise. From Poland...with love.

Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -
Does anyone have any experience as to whether priority boarding is worthwhile with Ryanair? (soon to take my first ever flight with them....)0

hi there you'll get a lot of mixed responses as this seems to get people quite emotional! I personally nearly always use it as we are 2 adults and 2 kids and we tend to travel during school holidays on busy routes. We also all take a small trolley type case so for us it's convenient to be able to get on first, get our cases together in the overhead locker and sit with each other so we can share sweets comics DSs etc. However if it was just me and OH travelling to somewhere obscure out of season I wouldn't bother.0

it is indeed very irritating when people post nonsense stories about ryanair - I remember a particularly irritating one concerning the electron card and the fact that ryanair would not start charging for its use this week this month or this year. Luckily the poster had the sense to remove the offending post before even more people saw it and also the offensive replies to those who had first suggested that it may be happening. They then disappeared for a short while to recover from their embarrassment but now appear to be back to full flow.

 now you've done it!0

Does this person have an easter european country mentioned in their user name? The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

If you are elderly/disabled/with children you often get the chance to be among the first to board, even if you haven't paid for priority boarding.
If a bus is used to transport passengers from the terminal to the aircraft priority boarding may only amount to you being first on the bus, although bus drivers sometimes open the front door a few seconds before other doors to give priority boarders a chance of getting to the steps of the aircraft ahead of the rest.
If there are, say, 3 of you traveling together you could pay for 1 to have priority boarding and let him/her reserve the other 2 seats. This isn't officially allowed but if the first person sits in the aisle seat other passengers are more likely to seek empty rows than ask to squeeze past you.0
