wow, i love absolutely everything on your flickr! want want want, haha.

i have just subscribed to the art of crochet, have to wait up to 28 days for first issue though  just hoping i can do it though, cause there are so many gorgeous things i want to make!
  • Hi all, I don't know if anyone has posted this already - apologies in advance - but I picked up today a kit for 99p - called 'The Art of Crotchet' it comes complete with 4mm crotchet hook, redcurrent yarn and biscuit practise yarn as well as a magazine and a dvd with easy to follow step by step instructions. I've been wanting to learn to crotchet and this is so cheap I couldn't help but snap it up. In the 2nd issue it will have another ball of pink wool along with a ring binder to store all your magazines etc... and the usual price after that will be £2.99...

Just thought i'd let everyone know and to check there local newsagents..... even if you get the first one or 2 it's well worth it for 99p for the first one anyhoo :)

    hi everyone

my god i didn't think id find it this hard to crochet, maybe im having trouble cos im a leftie. i can do the chain and im now trying the single corchet stitch but im finding it harder than what i thought but im just gona keep on practising and practising til i get it right. I think my main problem is with the tension of the wool as my stictches all seem to be completely different sizes.

How long did it take everyone else to learn?

Greenpixey - They are amazing! I adore the girl and her frog. The hello Kitty is so so cute and I'm loving the creepy heart too. My eldest would love that one (in fact both my girls - and me would love them all)
    You are so talented
You do know that you are now the nominated amigurumis guru of the board now, don't you? :D

    Hi all,

Can I join please, I've got a horrid cold and went to buy some flu capsules earlier and treated myself to the art of crochet to cheer myself up :D

Just about to watch the dvd... so has anyone subscribed?

I'm thinking I'll subscribe so I can get the free gifts and then stop after the 3rd delivery unless I get addicted or forget to cancel :o

Hopefully I'll pick up some tips on this thread cos I'm a complete beginner, here goes...

I got the pattern from a Swedish amigurumi book. Here it is for you:

Note: when working in the round do not join. Mark stitches at the end of each row.

    Ears
Rnd 1: 3sc in magic ring (3) or ch2,6sc in second chain from hook (6) (there are two ways you can start the circle)
Rnd 2: 2sc in each sc around (6)
Rnd 3: sc in next sc, 2sc in next sc around x3 (9)
Rnd 4: sc in next 2sc, 2sc in next sc around x3 (12)
Rnd 5: sc in next 3sc, 2sc in next sc around x3 (15)
Rnd 6: sc in next 4sc, 2 sc in next sc around x3 (18)
Rnd 7: sc in next 5sc, 2 sc in next sc around x3 (21)
Rnd 8-9: sc in each stitch around (21)
    Rnd 10: sc in the next 5sc, sc2tog x3 (18)
Rnd 11-12: sc in each stitch around (18)
    Rnd 13: sc in the next 7sc, sc2tog x2 (16)
Rnd 14-17: sc in each stitch around (16)
    Rnd 18: sc in the next 6sc, sc2tog x2 (14)
Rnd 19-22: sc in each stitch around (14)
    Rnd 23: sc in the next 5sc, sc2tog x2 (12)
Rnd 24-27: sc in each stitch around (12)
    Rnd 28: sc in the next 4sc, sc2tog x2 (10)
Rnd 29-32: sc in each stitch around (10)

Hope it makes sense, if you need any further help pm me or write a message here
  • That would be great, thank you. I'm doing the head and body from the link nuttybabe (I think) posted I just can't figure out ears lol
