Before you look at the picture imagine it in fluffy pink with the head the same size as the body and nice eyes and mouth. so basically totally different to what it does look like!!!!!!! :P

Hi claireac. Welcome :D What was the name of the magazine you ended up with? I don't think I've seen that one

Nuttybabe - Oh my. He's... he's...um....bloody terrifying!!!!!!:D He IS well crocheted though :p
You are sooooo gonna take the micky out of my first attempt aren't you?

Actually I've had an idea. Unpick his eyes and re embroider with 2 big X's instead. A bit like some of these http://www.iwantiwant.com/cgi-bin/cat_display.cgi?270&IWIW-1262777223821982502871
You could be on to something here :D

    Hi everyone,
I just thought I would tell you about a book I brought last year, it's call Compendium of crochet techniques by Jan Eaton.

It's a great basic book of tips and full of easy to read (follow) stitches and a few basic items to make.

I found it in the libary and was impressed enough to buy. I got mine off ebay but Im sure it must be in most book shops and is great for beginners and those who want to try a bit more lacey type crocheting.

Now off to Wilko's for more wool lol.
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

Completely out of my comfort zone I have crocheted a wristwarmer 1zqa5j4.jpg
I'm not gonna put this on my blog, probably loose half my followers :p

I prefer crocheting cuddly toys but I have to admit making this wrist warmer was fun.

My girls would ask for a pair too! It could probably be easily adapted into a thumbless mitten by working a few extra rows and maybe a little bit of shaping at each end.

Another one to add to the list!

Can you let us have the pattern greenpixey?

I made the mistake of getting this one its called Lets get crafting " crochet creative, I think it does different craft things every month because next issue is knitting:)

Nuttybabe - I agree a brown shell and you will have a turtle...:) Hes cute though!

    Didn't follow any pattern sorry.
I got big wrists and made a chain of 35
then dc in each sc back and forth til I had got up to my thumb.
dc in 6sc then a chain of 6 that I attached with a dc on the 12th sc (that is the thumb hole) then I just continued dc back and forth til I was happy with the length.
on the top I tried to do a fancy edge but it came out a bit wonky.
Gonna seach now if I can find a crochet patten and have another go, there must be plenty out there

Dh said he looked like a tortoise/turtle as well. But I much prefere the unpicking the eyes and putting a bix X instead and i was going to unpick the mouth and do a zig zag line. Zombie Teddy!!!!!!!! :P

I am loving the wrist warmer greenpixey.

Sue - finished the scarf yet? I cant wait to see your first attempt (got to be better than my third!!! :rotfl:)

Ladyshellda - are you looking at the right picture??? - cute is really not a word I would put in the same sentance as zombie teddy unless it also contained 'he is not'!!! :P

For all the left handed crocheters I have stumpled across some videos of left handed crochet instructions so let me know if you need any and I will try to find them again.

Cant wait to see more pictures of all your creations.

Got to do some housework now so I can start on a cute teddy tonight.
