    Hi,

Welcome to 2011, in my world it has already been rocked by a male acquaintance kicking me to the kerb, or in old fashioned speak dumping me. At 7pm tonight when I got the text I felt like such a fool, such an idiot that I had even allowed a man into my life. So lesson learned and back to using them all for a nights company and moving very quickly onto the next man. So feminist rant over and I know that not all men are idiots like him. Apparently he had met someone at a Christmas do, hope she blows the lights on his Christmas tree clean off and leaves him in a wilted heap on the floor with baubles lying broken all around him.

But the best bit of news I have is that I have paid off £10,482.18. That is the opening balance in Dec 09 to the closing balance in Dec 2010. So in actual fact there has been more paid but that nasty, vile pest called interest has gobbled some of my hard earned cash as well and the actual amount paid off is higher.

If I can pay another £11k off this year I will be a really, really happy girl. Delighted in fact.

The huge sealed tin of the floor has a balance of £1.80 into it tonight.

Not much else to tell except that I am hoping that the money God starts to look kindly on us and helps us find a few pounds that allow us to pay off ouor debt more quickly.

Off to bed, but before I go I am about to update my signature to reflect my paid balance. It's so mad that you can get excited about paying so much money off and the really mental thing is that I honestly didn't realise that it was that miuch until I had sat and added it all up.

Night night my fellow debt busting buddies.

    Have a fabulous 2011.

    Ll xx

    Hi Lexie!

Just checking in on people after a mammoth absence where not much happened and I wasn't great with the whole money malarky!!
Need to give myself a huge kick up the rear and start from scratch. Dunno about you but recent ebay things haven't been great and the thought of doing a car boot in this weather of a weekend fills me with dread!!

    Hi Sazzle,

I haven't ebayed in ages, nearly 9mths. The nutter who accused me of sellingfake goods kind of put me off. I have a couple of unwanted Christmas Presents that i might list over the next few days. I have yet to brave a car boot sale!

I've started my spending diary again, managed one day so far with no spends.

Sealed pot challenge has also started and so far there is £3.27 in it.

Not much else, except I am away to bed.

    Talk soon.

    Lots of Love,

  • Caught up on your diary, you have done so well. Its hard to keep your eye on the ball and focussed on reducing debt for so long. Much as I have only just started a diary I have been trying to sort out the debt for years. Its got better but not gone away and this time I am going to sort it! I've had problem Ebayers in the past and I know how you feel. One person accused us of false advertising or something and wanted their money back. They're just scammers. Most people are decent like us and just looking for a bargain. Don't let them put you off!
Good luck, I shall be subscribing to your diary now, I think you'll do brilliantly this year xx

    Hi,

I received a cheque today for £50 and I'm owed £20 from a friend which I'll get tmmw. So I am now wondering can I lodge the cheque into my credit card account or does it need to be lodged into my current account to clear first?

I might also have a few hours on unexpected work on Tues which is going to credit card. I don't think I mentioned but credit card no 4 is next on the hit list to be cleared.

Then it's a toss between cc1 and cc2, cc2 might hike up the interest so I might be better for the next few months paying a bit extra on this and then when the current period of reduced interest ends I'll be able to throw a wack at it?

I hope that makes sense, as I type this, it is to me.

    Night all.

hi Lexie, i'm probably wrong but i expect that you would need to clear the cheque through your current account first. as you payment to the credit card company will have to be in their name not yours.
