I think it depends on the Travelodge in question. That's just my theory. I've booked before when it's supposed to be charged, thought it was and was then charged when checking out. When I checked my statements, I hadn't been charged. Then for others, I have been charged.

Maybe (just a theory), really busy ones (such as Covent Garden where I was charged on booking) take the money then and less busy ones don't. Just a theory as I say. I booked Eastbourne and Covent Garden in the last sale and only Covent Garden was charged at the time. I've booked Tunbridge Wells in the sale this time and haven't been charged.

If anyone gets a definitive answer it would be great. Just make sure you check your account and take evidence of payment if you have been charged in advance - that's what I'll be doing.

Sorry to dispell your theory Redpablo, but i have booked 4 nights in Covent garden in August last Thursday, money was showing as pending but now not showing and hasn't come out. It has always come out more or less the same day/day after never this late and we have always used the Covent garden one, so don't know what is going on !!
  • Hey everyone I have only recently joined MSE and didnt know about the travelodge sale :( Is there any rooms still showing for £19 anymore? Im not bothereed where as long as its a ncie hotel and in nice area to spend a day at! Im in Manchester so ideally anything within three ish hours although would consider train for one down south!
  • Is there a telephone number for the travelodge?? Booked 2 rooms but since found out we cant make the date and it will only let me amend one of the rooms and not both! :(

I cant think it matters because they dont do single rooms

They do single rooms at London Marylebone (used to be a Ramada hotel) and London Farringdon (used to be a Thistle).

I bought the bulk of my rooms on the morning of the start of the sale and they are showing in "my travelodge" although the money hasn`t been taken and still showing at the bank as "pending".
The following day I booked another room, this also shows in "my travelodge, manage my bookings" but the money HAS been taken.

Same here except the transactions have completely disappeared from my bank account and all funds are showing as available. This is really strange and will cause Travelodge problems if customers now spend the money that they should have taken already.

That's the beauty of theories, there to be proved wrong - lol!

I know I've booked rooms in the past where I thought they were paid up front, hadn't checked, but then had to pay on departure. Then when checking my bank statement on return home they hadn't charged me in the first place.

Apart from my misguided and disproven theory I have no idea. It'll be interesting to find out what the answer is - if there ever is one.

yes me too. I wish they would hurry up and take it so I know it's gone. Coz I plan on emptying that account to finally pay off my overdraft at the end of the month so i need to know if it's coming off or not :/

Hi, I know you've just joined, but this isn't a booking service. Just search for rooms on their website and you will see what is available..

All of my rooms for the £9 sale are showing on my travelodge account, but no money taken or authorised as of yet.
