cashiers are paid to remove the tags as well as other general related duties so don't be so sarcastic.pitkin2020 wrote: »its not as if your taken to a cell in the back of the shop and stripped searched and held for an hour !!!
there have been enough people on this thread explaining what a flaming nuisance this is (and often humiliating) the fact that you aren't shot at the door does not mean we have to accept this aggrevation. I agree there are worse things that happen in life but the thread is related to the delays and problems faced when alarms go off/ tags aren't removed.tell you what, lets remove all security products and let the smackheads grab everything they can get. the police won't bother with prosecution and the only thing that will happen is that the prices will go up.
great idea...

as I have previously said shops need to put systems in place that actually work NEXT.0 -
The only problem I have with them is when they are disabled and don't go off in the store you bought from, but then activate the sensors in some other shop. You have to go about proving yourself as not having stashed something awayMale.

Only had it once, recently, at John Lewis.
Bought 2 Radley bags over the phone and whizzed down to the collection point for them. Got home only to find that one still had a HUGE great RDF thingy on, as it was a present I tried to remove it, that was pointless. Had to take it back and wait for the tag to be taken off. Was mildly annoyed, more inconvenienced, that the alarm hadn't gone off at the back door.
If only everyone was perfect... how bored we'd be!0 -

The ghost in our store sets the tagging gates off at random, so it's pot luck. Ok, may not be a ghost, but they've never been able to find out why it does that.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -

Nah he'd lose a lot of members - like those who don't know to capitalise proper nouns.0 -
Shops fail to deactivate these things all of the time.
I just keep walking when it happens as I got fed up with having to go back to shops repeatedly.
If the security guard wants to stop me then he is in for a great deal of trouble - i.e. false arrest, false imprisonment, assault etc.0 -

I think you're being totally unreasonable there. Why would you not let the Security Guard check your items against the receipt to make sure its all paid for, unless you have something to hide0
