my husband MOTs cars for a living, that's all they do - no repairs

and with people like you it's no wonder my darling husband comes home after a day at work shaking his head that people can be so deluded or stupid

if the wipers didnt work why not ask them to fix them before the MOT? or give permission for them to fix and then retest for you?

you have 14 days where my husband works to get a free retest if it fails

Does your husband point out to his customers that he is a testing centre only, and does not carry out repairs, or does he decribe himself as providing a full repair service?

Oh my God,I just popped out for a ciggie and thought I bet this turns out to be a 'kwik fit' place:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

so I refer you to this post of yours

[Yep - them being a garage and all - I did. Hold my hands up to that one! Perhaps they're actually all chefs or schoolteachers rather than mechanics]

more chance of them being chefs etc:rotfl:

I think you are on a loser with this one - everyone seems to be in a picky mood... :D Maybe you have got a cheek to expect the garage to repair your car - I mean, how dare you! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Where I work - we feel obligated to repair the vehicle if it has failed - with the owners permission of course.............

How much were you quoted for the repair of your vehicle in addition to the MOT cost?

Please provide the link to the terms & conditions you referred to.

Are you here for a 10 minute argument or the full 1/2 hour?

  • Thanks all. Am off out now. Will take it back to original place for a retest (assuming I can rebook it in!) and never darken their door again...

And that post was helpful to the OP in what way? If you read back thru the posts, it is rare to find a helpful one, one that is not 'accusing' the OP of being 'stupid' - cos Oh my, on here, god help anyone not to know about cars, cos everyone knows about cars and garages and everything on here - so therefore - everyone should know about cars and garages and kwik fit type places.......

Well 'Hello' - not everyone does - which is why they come on here for help!

Have a look at post#29 made by the OP.

Suggests they (think they) know all about cars and the requirements of an MOT.

All the more reason to ask why a vehicle was submitted without rectifying the known fault and/or asking and agreeing to a repair cost before carrying out the test.

Mind you, if they were that good, they'd have fixed it themselves ;)

I have not accused the OP of being 'stupid' just trying as I said before to find out EXACTLY what went on,

I think my post about KF was helpfull because I pointed out that she was correct to think that way about them,

the OP is s 'seasoned user of this site and there have been multiple posts about KF,

Jeez did you really have that bad a Xmas
