How much have you involved Mr B in the process.........sounds like he doesnt like to be told/proven wrong. ( Now who else is like that:confused::D).

I involved him afterwards- simply because he didn't want to know before. Other than seeing the joint account going down. So i worked stuff out showed him the budget and said this has got to happen...It was the only way Pepe:o

Maybe he needs to have his 'own' brilliant idea...which will of course be yours. You need a new cunning plan specific to Mr B so that he arrives at your decision believing that it was him who made it.

I have tried subtle, tried co-ersion;):p Tried making it sound like it was his idea, sorted out regular savings, full and final offers etc. I have even wrote letters to get back charges for him, after putting templates in hand and asking him to sort out his paperwork so we can claim----er guess what he did.

His brilliant idea though was to keep working and bring in a regular income:D So he can't and won't be knocked for that, because he works hard- and he just seems unable to do anything else. Which i suppose a lot of folk are like, hence consolidation loans. He was frightened and stubborn and optimistic that it won't happen and we will cope. All he wants to do is come home have tea and relax really.

So i do understand, just thought that after all this time he would be a bit more canny. I did hear mutterings about quidco the other day...i have hopes:D

Or just dig a hole in the back garden.....

Whatever you do dont give him spade-use instructions!

I used to believe I could work myself out of debt.....but the harder I worked, the more I earned, the more I spent, the deeper I got in to debt, then I got another CC..........round and round and round we go, where it stops nobody knows, just scream if you want to go faster.
    :D:D stay wonky :D:D

I know it happens a lot- credit is a wonderful tool, but a demanding one. Plus i think it is an ingrained habit. I was thinking back about things, like you do<insert wavy lines>..

I reckon a lot of it started when we had to use banks and wage packets disappeared. Then it went from weekly to monthly. Then there was too little wage and not enough left after bills- long months, at least on weekly there is not a lot of time to get through..so begins the wave of credit as an easy source of money.
Not just that though, human nature and complacency do have a major look in.

Anyhoo- back to work. Have a load of paperwork again..bosses:p

Hope you have your feet up Pepe.:D

At home family will get away with stuff that anyone outside of family would be quaking in their boots if they try.:rotfl:

In the words of the great (if tiddly) EB on the mystery of human cussedness and behaviour

    "I'm a complicated person, you see, ...
Sometimes I'm nice, and sometimes I'm nasty -- hee hee!
...and sometimes I just like to sing little songs, like:
"See the little goblin, see his little--"
