Well done on being strict with Mr B, tell him you have a whole army ready with snowballs if he messes up!
This is definitely a year for getting serious with the debt, think everyones feeling it! xxPay Debt by Xmas 16 - 0/12000
There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.0 -
I agree with Penguin there we all seem even more positive about busting debt once and for all.
BOB..well done on getting all those jobs done today and all that cooking.0 -
Morning all- is another cold and frosty one.
Yes Pingu and Taxi, i think it only hit me properly when i realised how much i had paid off last year.Progress had been made, but i was thinking i really want it gone. There is no way i am letting it go now...a bit like Baldrick keeping hold of one of his fleas-i am that tenacious about getting rid of the debt.
Moneysaving wise, not a lot to report. I will be going shopping today and filling up the freezer with things. But in all honesty we have enough meals for two weeks other than fresh veg. Some of me thinks plan ahead just in case, so that is what i will do. At least in this weather if the electric goes, it is cold enough to keep the stuff cold.
Oh and tinned goods are a good idea plus a few other things in case of emergency. I am getting the camping cooker out of the loft so we can at least cook. I have thought about investing in a calor gas heater if there are any around-but i have lamps and all sorts so should be good. At least we can be warm.
That's about it for today.

Just realised i read the gas and electricity-put the readings in on line and we are still in credit. Plus we have made DD payments so i feel like i can relax a bit in this bad weather.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I too emergency shopped the other day as I can only see the roads getting worse due to the lack of grit in most parts of the country!!!..the foreign stuff ordered isn't due in for a while either.
Pepe...know that trapped feeling..when will you be able to go out?(sorry don't know what sort of op you had)0 -
Well i am as chuffed as chuffed could be...
E.ON have reduced our DD again to £43 for both gas and electric.:j:T
After submitting readings, i worked out we would be in credit, they confirmed we are in credit again by £98. So as a result DD reduced. Good times.:D I was going to request the monies back but given the weather at the moment i won't as it is money i am not relying on at the moment.
Think i may have a wee celebratory drink tonight.
Other than that i have been shopping. What a nightmare.
First went to Farmfoods- stocked up there with voucher off. £39
Netto next door bought in a few more items-£12
B&Q replaced damaged bathroom door lock-£3.95 ( rip off)
Then to Aldi- £20
Got stuck on car park- is sheer ice, then had to have a push onto main road as sheer ice again...:o Well Mr.B was driving so it had nowt to do with me. All the shops are near to each other but it took us an hour and half- result though as i won't have to shop for another two months at this rate other than a few fresh items.
Total spends-£71 on food- and we have crammed the larder and freezer so full, it is like Christmas again:o
Lots of survival goods- dried, tinned, baking goods etc.
I begrudge the lock though-even if it is a necessity for bathroom.:o:rotfl:
So feel a lot more optimistic.:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
