lol at catching him out cos of online banking.
Thing is if you tackle his debt for him when you are debt free, will he really learn anything. Or is his debt holding you back so much that you are prepared for doing his debt yourself, just so you can get a life back
    chev

That's the one Chev, i want my life back. I do feel that by paying off the joint stuff that this will then allow for him to get back on his feet. I also am extremely wary of slipping into the comfortable shoes of,' we can manage' and listening to him say we can afford stuff.

I want to go into the next few years feeling more financially secure. I thought as many do on here, that when we were debt free at 40 it would be ok..oh what a shock i was in for eh?:rotfl:

It doesn't take a lot for savings to go or make some bad financial decisions. It does take a lot to struggle against our own personalities though and i know debt does emphasise a lot of the bad traits.

I keep looking and hoping for a return to days when we could just laugh over nothing, enjoy a long walk without taking it as an opportunity to argue over debts..

I don't set out that way, and i must admit that he says the wrong thing a lot of the time- as in where should we go on holiday:confused: He has an amazingly optimistic streak on that front:rotfl:

It is our 25th Wedding anniversary this year, and a big birthday for him, DS is also 21 this year. The things we could have done eh?

He has already told his parents we are going on a cruise...

A paddle boat on the Leeds Liverpool canal-will be the nearest he gets to one of those..

You sound very organised and determined Bob - hopefully you can get back to those nice walks etc, it's such a shame when one issue (i.e. the debt) takes over everything.

Oh and here's a boat for your cruise ;)

And I'm 'working at home' too or at least that's the plan (but there's so many more interesting things i could do - like read a book, watch some carp TV -anything is better than doing admin!) Just thought except cleaning perhaps?

Bob have you read the Steig Larsson books - as you said you liked a thriller? I put off reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but was given it for Christmas and really enjoyed it so trying to resist the lure of an Amazon order to read the next two. Much better than trying to balance books etc.

Re car and OH's - mine does a very good line of 'but we talked about it' omitting to mention that we may have talked but I don't think we have made a decision so arrival of new shiny object always a surprise. In fairness as he took out 4 year 0% payment thing he has been persuaded cannot change until payments finish in October and then I'll have to think of another reason like - we can't afford it, need to overpay mortgage if we ever want to retire mmm must think of more reasons!

Morning Bob. You've worked your Budgets and Forecasts until they squeak......now what are you going to do with your time???
How much have you involved Mr B in the process.........sounds like he doesnt like to be told/proven wrong. ( Now who else is like that:confused::D).

Maybe he needs to have his 'own' brilliant idea...which will of course be yours. You need a new cunning plan specific to Mr B so that he arrives at your decision believing that it was him who made it.

Or just dig a hole in the back garden.....
    :D:D stay wonky :D:D
