Hi all
After a disappointing overspend of £42.86 in December, I'd like to put myself down for £150 for January please.0 -
NSD chez Cranky. I did inspect the vegetable rack (which has mostly cat food stored on it), and I have turned an elderly bag of potatoes and a senior piece of Double Gloucester I noticed in the fridge into 7 yummy cheese potatoes, which are now stashed in the freezer.0

Thanks for your advice - I will invest in some lentils to try and bulk things out. I already cook pretty much everything from scratch at the moment and do use value products. Today for example I have cooked spag bol for the grand total of approx £3.50 so i think its not so much the dinners i cook that is costing me but everything else.0

I'd like to join please. Will be aiming for £150 for me and DS for 7 days a week and also OH at the weekends. Have quite a bit in cupboards and freezers so will be doing an inventory in the next couple of days to see what I need to use up.
Had a quick dash round Mr T today, picked up some essentials and spent £21.10.0 -
Hi,I would like to rejoin after a huge hiatus! I would like to put myself down for £140 for January for myself and 3 children-well having said that,my DD goes back to Uni this friday so after that it will be me and the 2 boys (plus 2 cats!) I need to go through my freezer and use up some of the chicken portions etc that have been there a while, that should help my budget for a couple of weeks. I have some potatoes rice and pasta ,plus quite a bit of fruit,so should be ok,also have loads of washing powder/liquid and cleaning stuff-5 large bottles of stardrops as well as several sprays bought on special offer. Have banned myself from buying anything until I actually need it for a couple of months,no matter how good the special offer! A bottle of stardrops lasts me months-how am I going to get through 5 lol? Mind you, have also joined the Organised thread and am attempting to get my house clean and tidy so there's my answer! Good luck everyone-I hope 2010 is a fantastic year for us all.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0

£210 for January please.
And I will be trying hard to stick to it this time. We won't dwell on the horror that was December's overspend... :eek:0 -
Afternoon all,
snowing all day here, which is just as well as i was going to go and look for something nice to wear for this coming Friday when im going out for my sisters birthday, but dont want to drive in this so just as well.
However i only live less than a 5 min walk from a 24/7 Mr T, and have needed mobile phone credit for a few days, and some sausages for tonight so went for a slow walk over, got a couple of mags too, but only actually came out with my sausages. Reductions were not exciting enough for me to find room in the freezer!
Unfortunately whilst i was in there, dh phoned me, he had gone to drop dd at grandmas for the night and his aunt had rung, his father has been very ill at home for a couple of weeks-he has COPD, emphysema and is alcohol dependent, and despite numerous efforts on our part to ring, visit etc for a few weeks we have had no response (not unusual anyway), but turns out he has been ill at home and would not accept help, dh had to call the police to gain access to his flat, he refused an ambulance but allowed dh to take him to a and e where he had a fit when in with triage nurse. He is in resus at the moment, and from what dh has told me and from my opinion as a nurse, it certainly sounds like he is very seriously ill. It is so sad when you do all you can but someone just doesnt want help, he is a lovely man, its such a shame it has come to this for him. I am praying he gets better. DH told me not to drive to the hospital as its a fair way to the one he is in, he will let me know when he is taken on a ward.
So im just sat at home feeling very sad, and hoping for some good news.
But back to the topic (sorry to digress, just a bit sad), i am adding £2 to my grocery spend, for my sausages, which were half price incidentally. My phone top up and mags are out of spending money.
Start new job on Monday (well mon and tues is Trust induction and mandatory clinical skills training) so im going to get some leftover xmas turkey out of the freezer for sandwiches and make some more soup-put some on this morning but didnt make a lot, so will do a bit more tomorrow to take in a flask. I am hoping i will have my uniform fitting on one of these days or i will look a bit silly on my first shift on the ward in my previous Trust uniform!
Hope everyone has a good weekend0 -
(((hugs))) for slowandsteady and familyCheryl0

Have spent £2.30 on bits in the past couple of days - had to get milk as I made the gingerbread syrup from the Christmas board and am about to have my first gingerbread latte - much cheaper than starbucks!......0
