Please count me in!
My groceries target for january is £200.
Considering that I have a large , well stocked pantry, a full freezer and lots of home made jams and preserves, it should be easy this month!Not buying any toiletries until stock is used up!Never paying full price for clothes thanks to charity shops!:rolleyes:Saving up for children's university fees and costs!Maxing up repayments and repaying up mortgage: 3 years to go!:DPlanning what to sow in the vegetable plot to cover veg bill this year0 -
2 NSD's in a row, a first for me. Went to Morrison's today and I was being extremely good. Bought loads of fresh veg for soup, got to the checkout, and as I finished the packing, my Mum had already paid for it. She wouldn't let me give her the money either. Even although it was only £10.42, I'm not adding it to my total as it was a freebie.
Still snowing here, I hope it goes away soon. I have a 6 hour drive on Monday for a job interview, don't fancy doing it in the snow!!

First spend of the year for me £2.30 for bread and milk on the way home from w*rk - I couldn't be @rsed making bread tonight and am out at w*rk again tomorrow, so needed some for my packed lunch.Also spent £22 on bedlinen in the sales for the boys, but that won't come out of my budget as it's a non consumable! Did plan to mealplan tonight but I am cream crackered so will leave that for tomorrow.It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Wow - can I just tell you all, the pork mince bolognaise sauce (of which there is enough left for at least 2 more meals) was declared "the best ever" and resulted in 3 sparkling clean and empty plates!!
Thank you so much!!0 -
1st spend of the 2010 annual GC budget = £9.04
For that I got...
Water = 52p
Frozen spinach = £1
Phily style cheese x2 = £1.20
Yoghurt = 29p
Bread items (several) = £1.03
Lettuce = 34p
Salad onions = 74p
Baby bananas = 22p
Pears (2 bags@25p) = 50p
Plums (Large punnet) = 75p
Butternut wedges = 25p
Dried milk = £1.20
Shortbread (4 pkts@9p) = 36p
Choc truffles = 64p - erm not strictly a necessity... more a treat for braving the snow!
I'm pleased with that! :T It appears I accidentally timed it for the 75% off fruit/veg reductions as the store was shutting at 6 today (normally open 24hrs). I also used up all my extra points if you spend a £1 on XYZ (which would have expired tomorrow) so I got 151 clubcard points too!
I also spend £1.70 (out of a different budget) on 5 rolls of Xmas wrapping paper, umpteen bows and ribbon, Xmas stocking and a DVD giftbox so I'm all set for wrapping Xmas 2010 (and 2011 I think!:rotfl:)
Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!
