NSD yesterday, and will be an NSD for me today personally, but not for the family, so not counting it.

DH took DS2 up to Sheffield this morning for a weekend rugby development camp. DS1 & GF hitched a ride too, so I am on my own with the dog. DH is staying overnight so he can bring DS2 back home tomorrow (in time for school on Monday!). He will be eating out later (though sent everyone away with packed lunches!), as well as paying for his room. DS1 & GF are overnighting and paying their own way in Sheffield town centre, while DH is staying nearer to the camp (close to Chesterfield).

I think as this weekend will be NSD-free, I may as well do some food shopping tomorrow rather than wait until Monday. It will only be a top-up shop....we seem to be out of cheddar, have been working our way though the brie, goats and numerous blue cheeses that we got as Xmas pressies...very useful! Need cheddar & mozarella for the HM pizzas on the menu for next week though! OJ is another thing to get...going to check if the Princes OJ is still on BOGOF (or was it half-price, same thing really!)

Right, off to start a shopping list, then get the rest of next week's menus sorted.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

    That's brilliant - thanks!!

The bacon / onion and herb omellete went down very well for breakfast - enjoyed by everyone. The eggs smelt and looked absolutely fine.

They're looking forward to their salad pittas and bananas for lunch (which we'll have about 2 ish as we've not long finished breakfast (I know!!!).

I need to work out at least one weeks meal plan from tomorrow until next Sunday, to keep me going - and to see if I need to pre-prepare anything.

Thanks so much again everyone, I'm so grateful for your help x

First spends due today as I'm providing a meal for all the family tomorrow (16 of us!)

Off to Mr A shortly to see what bargains are to be had and will make meal around those, so hopefully won't be too expensive.

    I'll update siggy later, K

Change of plans means I didn't spend anything after all! Only postponed though as meal is now on Sunday. Does mean that I started the year with a NSD :j (at least on food)

Had to go buy a calendar and diary as for the first time ever I didn't get either as a gift - so that was £11.97 spent. While I was out nipped into the sales and bought 2 new outfits for £50. I didn't have any new clothes for Christmas and needed something to add to work wardrobe so thought this was the perfect time. (I can find an excuse for everything!! :rotfl:)

Also picked up SW magazine for some new ideas for meals. A couple of interesting bits I may be trying this week.

Off to make a meal plan and shopping list now - another good habit I must get in to :A

Ooooh almost forgot - Brand new freezer to be delivered today.:D
I've managed for the last 3 years with the littlest freezer so haven't been able to take advantage of whoopsies or batch cooking. Don't know what stocking it will do to the budget, but if I spend now I should save later. At least that's the theory :p

Happy New Year everyone, hope you all had a good one. Best wishes for 2010.:D

Updated my signature as I've ventured out to the shops, been to Sainsbury's and Morrisons so stocked for a while now.

Keeping dinner simple tonight after over indulging on "fancy" food last couple of weeks so just doing fish, hm chips and mushy peas. Off to meal plan now for the next couple of weeks.;)

Updating sig in a moment. Total bunped up yesterday by £10.09 as we had lunch out at York, but no other spends and it looks like today is another NSD as I have no inclination to leave the house (Oh I am tired of snow)

Lunch is all those bits I bought as extras for Xmas, chicken nibbles, a garlic bread, onion rings - no visitors this year so we will enjoy ourselves them now otherwise they will still be in the freezer next year.

Hope everyone is fine, after lunch we are going back to the master bedroom blitz. Why do I keep so much junk????

£6.89 spent today. Got up early and went to Tesco, was done and home by 9:30am. Picked up some mince which has been made into a lasagne for dinner tonight, also some apples and custard for crumble. Got some other bits too including dried coriander for later in the week (my dad gve me some yesterday, but I forgot to take it...doh!) and some milk which i'm glad I got as knocked the existing bottle off the worktop earlier and it went everywhere. Cue me cleaning floor and having to pull fridge out to clean under it! I've had a good tidy today anyway and am just about to hoover.

I have everything for meals for next week and have loads of fruit so should get away without buying much, if anything.

Well no spending from our grocery money today again - not bought anything for three days and have plenty bread, milk fruit and veg plus freezer stocks so should not need to have any spending tomorrow either!!:T
