    Morning everyone :hello:

Had a LSD yesterday, only spending £2 in local bakery. Will update sig to reflect this. Looks like it will be a LSD today as well, as I need orange juice for brekkie. Still, LSDs are better than nothing in my book!

Cooked a delish pasta bake last night, and with careful planning, there was enough to make a second! That's a first for us as DH usually eats absolutely everything we cook for dinner, so there's never really much in the way of leftovers! :D

    Have a great day everyone!

  • I forgot to peel spuds last night for tonight's crockpot beef stew dinner - so we grabbed some mash from the freezer and will fry that with a sliced onion when we get in (as stew will be ready then). And we had to buy a loaf of bread on the way home. But we shouldn't need anything else until the weekend.

I think I act5ually may have trouble finding enough to buy in the next couple of weeks to spend my vouchers in Mr SQ - although we are pretty much out of wine and will need a few "regular" beers for visitors (DH likes Belgian beers but most visitors prefer ordinary lager or Guinness) so I might make one trip an alcohol one. (I have a €20 for one spend over €100, and a €10 voucher for the final spend over €100). And as we are using up lots of freezer stuff this week, there will be space there for some of the meat offers which they have this week - so I am planning on getting a few packs of part boned chick breasts, and boned chick breasts, and salmon fillets.

  • Feeling a little fed up. Have updated signature with another £62.18 spend, split bewteem Mr T's, Aldi & the Co-Op. Apart from a bit of f & v, some gluten-free biscuits (which are v.expensive), deodrant and olive oil, I can't say that anything else I bought, I actually NEEDED, they were just suppossed bargains. Apart from getting toilet rolls tomorrow & maybe some choccie bars, I am going to do my best to just not buy anything until the end of the month. Why is that so difficult for me, I wonder?

I went to Sainsbury's today and spent £13.93 on economy lemonade, hobnobs, pork and vegetarian sausages, bacon, yoghurts, bananas, apples, kiwi and mushrooms.
I also went to a newsagent intending to buy a cheap bottle of water but they didn't have any, so spent £2.05 on coke and blackcurrant. I have just gone and bought myself a new water bottle as the old ones leak, so hopefully less spent on drink.
    Off to update signature.

    Hi all

Spent about £17 this morning but I've stocked up on stuff like bacon, cheese, milk, eggs, T bags, bread and, of course, Jaffa cakes. I'm another one who has been buying I Can't Believe it's not Butter (48p) and I got another couple of packs today as it said the offer was ending today. Won't go short of marg for a while!

It's another NSD for me today. Will use the sauce I made last night for the pasta for dinner tonight, spiced up with a little chilli powder and served on rice.

This NSD stuff isnt going to last, mind. I am actually beginning to run out of things! Will probably do a stock up at the weekend.

£2.41 spent on bread, 1/2 price cake and a bottle of pop for DH. I was a bit  as the 75p Mr S bread I bought on Thursday, dated until Sunday was mouldy by Saturday morning. I usually make my own bread but wanted some sliced for a change. This is the second time I have bought that bread and the second time it has happened. It won't be buying it again.

We have only been in a supermarket 6 times since the 30th December and I think keeping out of them is helping us keep to the GC this month.

Meal plan went a bit haywire in the last week as the bump is tiring me out but we have eaten what was in the house and did not resort to a takeaway once:T which would have happened in the past. Also used up some bits and pieces that have been in the cupboards and freezer for months.

Will get next weeks shopping from Mr M as I prefer their F&V and only a few bits needed as I am away all week and DH lives on what ever is easiest when I am away.

My NSD turned into a LSD as we'd run out of milk. Popped to the local shop but that's all I bought.

Feeling a bit nervous and excited as my son's faulty ipod touch (which he saved his own money to buy for his ski trip) SHOULD be being returned tomorrow after being sent off on 8th December. It's a very long story but basically Comet would not exchange it so it had to be sent off for repair. It was then sent off to Scotland but because the store manager didn't follow the correct procedures it sat in the repair place all over Xmas without being looked at. Eventually I tracked it down and once allocated a "job number" it was inspected and a new one despatched. Discovered yesterday that it had been dispatched last week to the store where we bought it - not our home address as requested so now it's being sent by courier tomorrow. WE HOPE. We're absolutely cheesed off with the appalling customer service -
    a) why didn't anyone contact us or the store when it was sat in Scotland without a job number and
    b) when it was returned to the store why didn't they ring to say it had arrived last week. Lesson learned - We will never buy anything from Comet again and it the ipod becomes faulty again we've since learned we could have taken it to the Apple store in Exeter!

Sorry for the rant - had to get that off my chest and preparing for a strongly worded letter to Comet HQ detailing all the hastle we've had!

good luck with the grocery challenge. Not long to go til the end of the month.
