I've bought a Singer sewing machine!!!! Off my works intranet and forgot to ask what model it was but I don't care. She said it works but that it snaggs and needs some tlc, but........it's only a fiver!!! :money::):j I'm so excited now! I'm picking it up on Monday and hoping I didn't sound so excited that the woman will try to sell it for more... I really want it. I'm sure it can be sorted out and even if it can't, it's only a fiver. Will update on Monday when I get it!

    ooh what a bargain!

My next door neighbour has offered me some curtains which used to be in her daughters room. But she wants me to make her a cushion cover out of them - I've warned her I've never made one before but that I'll have a go!

Pinkpig, I'd never made a cushion before one of my friends asked me to make some for her, from curtain offcuts. It was easy and my friend loves them. Her son also loves his and now calls me 'Nykie - she made my cushion!'

hi hope you can get it sorted i suppose it depends on what she means by 'it snaggs' i would give it a good clean remove the bottom bobbin and the feed dog plates and see if it has fluff and stuff maybe even put the hoover nozzle (if you have one) on it.

it could be a tension problem most modern machines are factory set at about 4 so you could try that too.

if all else fails you could maybe see if you can get a quote to have it serviced.

hope you get on ok let us know.

Good Morning sewers :D Welcome Handsewn :D

I have just caught up with the wonderful makes :j

I have had fabric from America and not paid custom charges so I wonder if it depends on the weight? I have only had 1/2 meter or FQ's so not that much weight :o

I managed to get the yr6 leavers gifts finished on time and they loved them :D

The parents had hired a BIG Hummer to drive them around for an hour after school (more money than sense here :rotfl:) it is not an easy car to turn around on the narrow country lanes here but the driver did it :rotfl:

    Pic's of the gifts :D

A better pic of the wallets and purses :D

Im now off to work :( so will catch up later :D

great makes as always well done.

    Thank you everyone :D
It was touch and go if I would get the gifts done in time as the wallets would not go right :( I made 2 withthe tabs on wrong so they were upside down and one I forgot to put the tab on :rotfl: the purses were no problem.

Florenceem :D I love you dolls you make :T

tirlittan :D great bargain, hope it all works for you :D

I love my machine as I never have time to sew so I need something done it needs to be done quickly :D one day I am going to get back into my embroidery, I brought a book from Amazon, it came yesterday, called Doodle stitching as it was only £5.48.
I need a lottery win so I can give up work and sew all day :D:rotfl:
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)
