I just bought a new doll e.pattern. She is 16 inches and has a dress/loons/waistcoat and hat - cost £1.59.

Where did you get a bargain pattern for that price?:T

Good Morning sewers :D Welcome Handsewn :D

I have just caught up with the wonderful makes :j

I have had fabric from America and not paid custom charges so I wonder if it depends on the weight? I have only had 1/2 meter or FQ's so not that much weight :o

I managed to get the yr6 leavers gifts finished on time and they loved them :D

The parents had hired a BIG Hummer to drive them around for an hour after school (more money than sense here :rotfl:) it is not an easy car to turn around on the narrow country lanes here but the driver did it :rotfl:

    Pic's of the gifts :D

I'm new here and just had to join in on this thread (my user name probably gives away why!)

I sew doll clothes, the teeny-tiny kind for popular brands of Japanese dolls (Blythe, Licca...I am aware this might go over the head of most people who are unaware of them) and recently I have been just trying to sew everything and anything. I'll definately bookmark this thread for inspiration.

Am I alone in asking if anyone else out there prefers to sew by hand rather than use a sewing machine? I have a machine but I cannot get the hang of it.

    Hi,

I sew by hand, I get no enjoyment at all out of using the sewing machine. The machine is fine for boring stuff like lining curtains but for fun tasks it has to be hand sewing for me!

Great makes - love them. I can get seven yards of dress weight cotton fabric in a $13.95 envelope from the US. I am off to a Cath Kidson shop today - probably won't be able to afford anything - oh well - I can look.

If you Google in - Free apron patterns - there will be some. I have links to some free patterns but no time to find them now as I am off to Canterbury.
